haha. I rode on cut GSL springs for a while- it rode the exact same as before, just lower.

Looking great man! hoping I will catch up to your progress soon! Right now I have both sides done, but nothing on the firewall, and I'm also Stitch welding some, so gotta go back and sand a bit off of what I had already primed.

If you even knew how many times I sanded and ground off what i already did I'd be driving the car by now!

Im glad to hear about the springs. Mine were actually new ebay springs, but they werent lowering springs, just more stiff. They have a few extra coils than the stockers did. Im hoping they arent too rough,i cut one coil, but if they are I could just get better shocks until the respeed goodies. It looks like when the previous owner installed the strut cartridges he gouged the one strut rod. It would catch a little when compressed so i sanded it down a little. Slides smooth now atleast lol

Yea- I love the ReSpeed Race Coilover kit. Using their camber plates, Tokico illuminas, the weld on perches, and i think 325/150 Rates. Car handles great. I've only put like 1000 miles on it with them, but its really good.

Actually, depending on how this FC subframe swap goes, I may sell my front Coilover setup with the struts, SE brakes and everything... And my matching rear end- 4x114.3 and GSL-SE brakes, with a 3.9 GSL Posi. if you would be interested???

^ now THAT is bad haha. I know cutting springs is a hack, and you guys call all say what ever you want about it. But seriously, how bad have the stock springs sagged in ~30 years? Im sure its some. When I bought my car it had the springs and shocks already installed in the front. When i put them in the rear it raised the car an inch over the 30 year old springs. The springs I have are just supposed to be stiffer and not lower the car to begin with, so if you think about it, all I did was make the car the same height as old saggy springs lol taking an 1" over stock should not be enough to affect the shock travel to a point that it will affect the life of the shocks. Besides, I'm getting respeed parts soon anyway, and Illuminas will most likly be bought first.

Im not saying any of you guys were riding my *** about this, just simply saying.

yeah cutting a coil is ok, its when you cut like 3 coils, or have coil overs and STILL cut the springs that it gets bad

it was like $430 after tax. they just lowered the price from $500 to $449. If you go to the post office and get a change of address form you get a 10% off lowes card. just a little tip

DO WANT!!! I'd love to have a compressor, I just don't have a garage to put it in and people around here steal barbeques, never mind compressors.

I cant believe how well this seat fits me and the car. Looks really good in there too! Im getting a slider for the drivers side, the passanger sparco (when i get it) will just be bolted to the floor, no slider. I dont car if my passenger is comfy or not

This is why I didnt hardly do anything to the car. This room was a disaster so bad you couldnt walk in it. Also, it was full of mold and a wall was falling down. Its all fixed up good as new, all cleaned with bleach, and looks pretty spiffy too!

I refer to it as, "My study" hahaha

Hopefully I can get to work on the car soon!

I just noticed in one of your pics, I think your sway bar is upside down. The ends should be the same angle as the control arm, otherwise the end link won't line up straight. If you haven't caught the before I posted this you may want to get in there and check.

Long time no post

I have done some work to the car, but not nearly as much as I'd of liked to. After I got the sub-frame done and stuff I kinda burnt myself out with it. Since then I got a lot of work done around the house, put E-Fans in my pickup, and bought (painted, added chrome, and other badassery type things) a keg fridge. Pretty cool

Here are the only real progress pics that I have. I'm still waiting on my front cover o-ring from mazdatrix and I just remembered (again) that i forgot to order a rear main seal

I wanted to paint my engine white and black. So i did.

Paint didnt stick good enough... but thats actually ok. I hated the look of white and black.

Stripped it and re-cleaned, its staying natural color.

There is a pic of my trans after I wire wheeled the bell housing. I like it I think im either just going to clean the rest of it good and leave it, or paint it black...

I just sold my bike... This Saturday I'm making a 590 mile round trip to Cincinnatti, OH to pick up an 85' GSL from a forum member. Pretty excited about that too!
