What type of oil?

I was tempted to put a synthetic oil maybe Royal Purple into my 85. Does anyone run synthetic at all, or that new high milage stuff I see on TV? Thanks.

4 quarts Castrol GTX 20w50, 1 quart MMO.

Now that I have my OMP blocked off and am running premix, I might switch to synthetic, but I havn't yet.

OMP,, it is located at front of engine at the bottom, it actually injects oil thru two plastic lines that run to the carb, lots of folks dont trust them to do the job of lubeing the engine so thats why we either disable it or run a mixture of Marvel Mystery Oil or a 2 cycle oil mix in our gasoline,,,, can do a search to find out more,,,good luck,,,,
I run 10w30, just change at 3 mo or 3k, and most brands will be fine, but you will hear all about other great oils to use......but using synthetic with the OMP hooked up has been discused alot,,, claims it has problems, so thats why i just use dino oil and frequent oil changes.
