Ok, I took off the wire and held it to the plug, it was real weak. I then held it to the block and it got stronger. I switched the 2 trailing plugs and its still the same.

nah, I dotn believe its the spark provided you have new wires and plugs and caps/rotors. I dont know your set up but it sounds like carb issues such incorrect air/fuel mixture, vacuum leaks to name a few.

The car was runing great be4 this, I was driving it home and just started runing like (if it had pistons) i was missing. I checked the timing for the hell of it and the trailing mark (red notch) keeps jumping around no matter where i have it set at. what would cause that?

tryed adj a/f, took off the carb and searched for vac leaks. Found one fix it but still didnt help. Think it could be something on the inside of the carb?

Trailing ignition problems would not affect idle, AFAIK. You could have no spark at all in trailing spark plugs and not even notice. Go down the following list and check all these.

Rough idle can be caused by improperly adjusted mix screw, but also can be caused by:

- Flooding

- Damaged mixture adjustment screw

- Malfunction of AAV.

- Slow flow, clogged idle port

- Clogged main jet

- Idle compensator valve malfunction

- Poor or damaged intake manifold gasket or carburator insulator seal

- Throtle valve closes improperly or does not close

- Malfunction of shutter and coasting valve.

- Broken, worn or disconnected vacuum hose.

Hmmm, well could the magnets in the dizz go out? Cause I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPEND, THE CAR WAS RUNING GREAT. I have already check 99% of them things, the only thing i havent was the intake gasket cause i have never removed it.

I checked the timing again and the red notch wont move when I try and adj the vac advance. the bottom turns like it should but the red notch wont line up (or move for that matter) anymore. Would trailing timing probs casue ruff idel? if not maybe i should rebuild the carb, i got it from a local guy so i dunno when the last rebuild was but its ******* diry as hell.

everyone keeps saying mixture screw, flooding, CARB CARB CARB. but the car was runing fine for about 5 hours be4 this. Im not counting the carb out cause like said above it is dirty as hell, maybe the inside was dirty and i didnt see it.

Ok let me repost everything I have done so far.

I was driving the car and it was runing great, I slowed to make a turn and when I tryed to acc after the turn it felt like the car was "missing" upto 3k then it feels fine. I drove it home and started checking the plugs/wires/dizz ect. the trailing plugs spark seem weird (to me but they maybe normal im not 100% sure), why they have a spark its weak compared to the leading plugs. I checked the wires, they are fine. I replaced the plugs, wires, dizzy, and rotor about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I also tryed adj the mixture screw and did no good. I put a totaly diff carb on and it giving me the same problem. So I check timing and the leading mark is even with the stud, the trailing keeps jumping from where its even with the red mark to where its even with the yellow one. So I killed the car and was told to check the spark plug hole make sure it wasnt dirty, so i take the plugs out clean the holes and put the plugs in, still the same. I check the timing again and this time both leading and trailing are set to the yellow mark and I cant get the red notch to move for ****. I need to know if it might be the magnets or some to do with them that control the vac advance. PLZ HELP

So I have tryed:

Carb
plugs
wires
replaced the coil

How are you adjusting the trailing and at what rpm is it idling?

You need to get the idle down to time it correctly. Not sure what to say about the trailing, are you disconnecting the vacuum lines to the dizzy when timing?
