Springrate

I got a set of springs, but I do not know the springrate. I can remember that somewhere here there were post about calculating the springrate.

I know it's linear and it has 6 coils. The thickness of the coil is 0.52inches. Can you calculate the springrate with this info?

Check out this website:http://www.not2fast.com Scroll down to 'Spring rate calculator' Don't worry about the first couple numbers, you just need the number of free coils(figure aprox. 1/4 coil extra from where the spring touches itself on a boxed end, it might be almost a 1/2 I forget). The wire diameter and the diameter of the spring coil. The wire dia is the most important so make sure you get a good reading from a dial caliper.
