Shocks

I’ve always been leery of eBay anything, but I found these and looking to see if anyone has used these.

I think a rear shock is bad, so I want to replace them all.

rock Auto doesn’t have much of a selection and the higher end stuff is very hard to find.

The car (1985 S) is mostly all stock, so I don’t need anything too crazy.
Thanks

KYB makes really good shocks. I wouldn't worry about them at all.

RA usually carries the Gabriel shocks. Never tried them and they are on back order.

The KYBs will be fine for a stock application. Go ahead and get the front inserts too because all of them are probably marginal at this point and they are cheap.

I just ordered a set of these through my work! Still waiting for the fronts to show up but I have the rears. You will be happy with them! Do some lowering coils at the same time

I bought that set from ebay...no complaints...

Those are the shocks and struts and some other goodies I ordered ar the same time😎

And I got a set of TCM Racing lowering springs...they lower the RX 1.5 inches all the way around....a lot of SCCA drivers use them on their track RX7

Don't forget to trim your bump stops by an equal amount as your lowering springs. If you don't, the car will be rebounding off of them with every bump and riding around on them in every corner, binding the suspension travel. It takes 5min each corner, but gets overlooked a lot.

the fronts can easily be replaced with urethane vs petrified rubber too.

i'm working on the rears, and have a couple candidates

the competition book wants a 30mm front bump stop and 38mm rear

I bought that spring set from a retired SCCA racecar driver. I went to his warehouse to buy some other stuff and saw those springs on a box in the corner ... Came out to be TMC Racing lowering springs and they were a NOS he had ...they are/were popular with SCCA racers....

Unfortunately they don't make them anymore......
