secondary jets with primary jets?
hi everyone, i had an extra nikki carb and stripped it of all the stuff i needed( primaries and secondaries were seized) so one of the things i kept was the secondary jets, i was wonderin if i could take of the primary jets and put in the secondary jets in place, so at the end i want to have 4 secondary jets from a stock nikki carb in place.has anyone done it? and if so will it give me any power?? or reduce power?gas mileage?thanks in advance.

you would run stupid rich, they are different sizes for a reason.
when the primarys are open there is a smaller volume of air going through, thus needing a smaller about of fuel into the A/F mixture, but as the sec's open up it needs more fuel to feed the hungry beast

They are. I mean you would be going from what 92 to 160 - big difference.
The most I was able to go with my sp 12A and other goodies, on a sterling carb was 150 on the primaries and 170 or 175 on the secondaries. The car ran good even though Sterling was not very pleased with my choice of jet sizes . Any bigger than that and the car would bog from being too rich, especially at high rpms.
Eventually I went down a few sizes to lean it out a little bit.
