Roughly,yea.

Worn out tires will affect it a little, but 4K is nothing for a rotary.....thats where they start to sing!

I belive the diff gearing is a little different between S2 and S3, but I'm at 3,400rpms or 3,500rpms at 70mph

Diff gears are all the same stock, 3.909, except for the manual SE diff, which is 4.10. Changing tire sizes/diameters makes more of a difference than anything else.

No you're wrong it's his muffler bearings. You need to change 'em soon! Here's what mine looked like.

He likes to toss that pic up every so often, The surgical gloves are a nice touch. Adds a bit of proffesionalism and authenticity to a very old joke.

You in 4th or 5th gear? Either way its close, but 5th should be around 3400 RPM or so.

4k for me is about 80-85mph. When I moved here to ID, from about an hour north of Salt Lake City all the way to Boise my tach never dropped below 4k. averaged about 90 LOL. About 3500-3600rpms is when the secondaries open up so if you keep it just under you'll get the best fuel economy
