rats neset removed, car wont idle?

Hi guys ive got most of the rats nest removed barring 1 thing. (the pipe that leads from the exhuast that needs a second block off plate to be made for it.) Right now my car wont idle but it will run if i give it gas. I was following the guide and i can seem to figure out what to do with the throttle control i also dont i dont have an AC unit and i dont know what vacuum to run to it, i also thought it had a line running from it where the little white pointer i made is at.

also there is a small yellow valve above it that i took the line off of on accident and i cant figure out where it got vacuum from.

Where does all of this plug into?

It won't idle because you have a likely vacuum leak. A nipple in the carb you didn't plug most likely. It's been a while since I've messed with the stick nikki, but if I recall that dash pot is to increase your idle when the AC is turned on.
The pot is controlled by one of the solenoids you removed, I think the white one. Run a line from vacuum to a solenoid then from the solenoid to the pot. Power the solenoid with the original plug for the AC and it should give it vacuum when you turn on your AC therefore increasing your idle speed.
Use some starter fluid or brake cleaner around the carb while running and find your vacuum leak first. Good luck.

i dont have an AC installed though, do i still need it? i had it in there originally when i did the rats nest removal but took it out when i found out it was used for an AC i dont have. what about that spot for a line above the black pot? i know that DID run to an opening on the carb but i cant remember where. i do know that when i have the car starte right now it sounds like there is ALOT of air rushing somewhere from behind it and the firewall but i cant find out where to save my life :/

Black dot? White arrow?? I dont see those on your pic. I do see a very clean looking nikki.
Go through your "rat's nest removal guide" again.... you missed something. That wind rushing sound is like he^^^^ said, an open air port. That extra un-metered air is messing up your idle.

The black plastic thing is for the a/c, regardless of whether it came with it or not. That connects to a port on the rats nest, so if that's gone, you are good. The gold thing connects to a port at the very base of the carb, you might not have plugged it.

That block off plate below the altitude compensator looks like it's not on securely, can't remember what that is.

I'd try some map gas to see what affects the idle, since there's a large leak somewhere.

MAP is a gas used in the heater torch. You can get it ACE, Home Depot any hardware store.
Personally I prefer to use starter fluid or carb cleaner and spray it around until I find the location that makes the idle change. I personally don't like to be leaking out combustible gas to next to a running engine. It also works with propane gas, but again, I prefer the starter fluid or carb cleaner bottles for safety reasons. The gas does work better as it gets drawn in by the vacuum leak much easier though.

Found it... the award goes to the guy looking at my cover plate. it wasnt sitting flush due to it being to wide. grrr. problem solved but now it idles stupidly low and eventually dies out. is this normal with a rats nest removal? i also installed the pulse ait intake and k&n filter from racing beat. all i should need to do is adjust the idle right? would i need to worry about runing lean after all this?
