Weird High Idle after removing rat's nest

I searched for this but haven't found a resolution to my problem. I removed my rats nest today and my car is idling really high now. I blocked off all the vacuum lines and hooked up everything properly after reinspection. I can't get the car to idle less than 1700 rpm even with the idle adjustment screw. I have seen it as high as 2500 rpm. I removed the cold start stuff but I can't find a BAC blockoff plate so I left it on unhooked. Any ideas?

Anyone know where I can get a blockoff plate for that? I looked on mazdatrix and rx7store but nothing jumped up but a ACV plate on mazdatrix.

Thanks for any help.

In my opinion, i would keep the BAC and Thermowax (if you removed that also). BAC keeps your idle stable from a/c load and electrical loads, to keep from stalling. Thermowax used for cold starts, so you dont have to keep your foot on the gas until warmed up.... Maybe this thread will help you out...

I dont have a/c or cruise control on there. I took them both off as they were creating problems for me.

I just removed my rats nest and am having this same problem. I was able to get my idle down slightly (between 1200-1500RPM) by adjusting the TPS. My idle set screw is all the way out as well. Check and make sure your throttle cable is at slack and not applying tension to the buttflys while at idle. ALso, make sure your butterflys are closing ALL the way and not getting stuck slightly open (was part of my problem.)

Best of luck, will let you know when i find out!

I tried adjusting TPS and the idle screw but nothing is bringing the idle down. Any other ideas? Thanks
