How to remove and replace inntake manifold in one session

hello good day . I would like to tackle intake manifold gasket and orings in one session. I'd rather not separate the carb but lift both the manifold and carb. I assume that I can simply remove intake bolts and and hoses attached to the carb. Any snags I may face? Thanks its a 1984 GSL. also what part of any fb or sa22c manual will I find diagram and or procedure? I usually check out foxed.ca for the 1985 manual but I cant seem to find anything regarding the intake manifold...
Please offer uncle type advice from experience. I have nothing to gain from "searching for it"
or google it. I have attempted these things at various numerous times to gain the confidence to do this. I purchased the gaskets and o rings a few months ago now its a serious leak. Thanks
I may be able to get a tow to a garage and be able to do it there in stead of the street

Its as much trouble keeping the carb on as removing it. Plus it makes the whole assembly that much harder to remount.

Alright so I have carb kit available if I need to change gasket if there is one I have read about that black plastic mounting piece that is actually the gasket does it need to be changed nothing to worry about that apparently Bend a 12 mm crescent wrench for rear carb nut access.
unmount diaphragms on both sides to access carb better
remove the various vacuum lines and then at that point remove the intake manifold bolts 1 by 1 remove manifold remove and replace gasket and o rings

Im sure there is more

Throttle cruise control linkages?
Fuel lines? Can i unbuckle the four bolts and just move it out of the way without disconnecting the fuel lines or linkage?

I like taking them off as one assembly. I take the exhaust manifold off first. To do this, I like removing the rubber isolators from the front part of the exhaust and then remove the four exhaust manifold bolts. Then I remove the two or three bolts holding the rats nest to the top of the engine. Remove fuel lines. I then remove the six nuts/bolts that hold the intake manifold on. Once this is done, it gives some slack to remove the three cables from the carb.

You're at the point where you can start cleaning the engine up. Stuff some old rags/plastic bags in all the openings (intake/exhaust) and give it a good scrubbing. Order up exhaust/intake/o-rings.

One of the four throttle cables has come loose from it's ferrel at the carb linkage? Order new? Or only special order custom repair? One of my other concerns is preserving everything or should I just go the route of say the Weber's from racingbeat? I'm already interested in their header and I have an SA manual transmission header. I want to get rid of the stock exhaust asap. Will a MT SA header work on an AT FB? Thanks again

Which cable? You may not need it if you do an emissions delete or go with webers.

You should ask RB about the header/AT fit since they don't make mention of it at all on the site.
