I struck gold

Hi!

I recently found a very clean example of an '88 GLX on Marketplace. After the best buying experience of my life, the seller and I reached an agreement and I pick up the car Saturday!

Thanks to my lurking around here, I knew exactly what to look for in this car, and the seller did me right in laying everything out for me transparently. The engine is about 500mi into a rebuild and is making 117/117/115 & 110/105/107 on the rotary-specific compression tester. New fuel pump, plugs, hoses, vacuum solenoids etc etc. All-around, I think it's the best possible start for breaking into the rotary life.

Going to be picking up the car in Colorado and driving it 7 hours back to Texas. It'll be hot, so I know cooling is going to be critical. Wanted to formally join the site and say thanks for all the years of good intel buried here. I struck gold with this FC, but the real gold is buried on this forum.

Bye for now,

aurion_zephyr

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on a good purchase. Finding a clean condition FC is like striking gold these days, and thanks for sharing the picture. Hope you stick around and document more as you go along, maybe even a build thread.

Honored to be here! A build thread is certainly in order. My plan is to restore this car to its 80's glory!

thanks for the reply! I'm sheepish to admit this, but it was a pic the seller sent me. 😅 But you're so right! It's framed beautifully. This is definitely one of those cars you find yourself looking back at in the parking lot, isn't it?
