Help me find these!

Ok, so I'm buying a Dellorto DHLA 48 to put on my "Judge Ito" large street port 12a. I've searched here and google, and read the gruntled site too. So I have a fair idea of where too start tuning. But even the gruntled site is looking for the RB emulsion tubes to post. They were modified with extra holes. I'm trying to locate a pair, so I can find out the size and location of the "extra" holes. If anyone has an old RB Dellorto, please pull these and take pictures, or I'd even buy them. RB gave the guy on gruntled permission to post any info he could find, but apparently no one has given up a set of these. The info would be a great help to alot of people (myself included), so help me locate these and spread the knowledge for everyone.

RB Dellorto

Doesn't anyone have an RB Dellorto? Really need these pics and info. The E-tubes are easy to pull.

Sorry man. So happy with my Sterling, I've never played around with anything else.

Good luck on your search though, I'm sure this would help a lot of people if you can find the answers. And you never know, Sterling might even be able to answer it for you if you want to give it a shot...

Just to make sure im reading this correct..There is a different set of emulsion tubes for a SP engine? or are you just referring to a RB prepped Dellorto's emulsion tubes?

Ray, contact Lloyd or pinoyremix. Lloyd messed around with some tubes in pinoy's dellorto last year and got it working. Sounds like it might be similar to what's going on with your carb.

Kentetsu- It would benefit the whole community to share this info. I'll definately try him, just hated to bother him with Dellorto ?'s ya know.

3rd and final 7- The guy that built my engine studied under Ito, and has "THE" template, which was use by him to do mine. So yes, and no. LOL It's a Judge ported engine, just not by the man himself, but every bit as good I assure you. It is a LARGE and very smooth job. I have yet to come close to finding the top end on this thing. LOL

one320fc- It is my understanding that the jetting RB did was different for street ports, but the emulsion tubes have the same "modified" additional holes. They are .8 tubes with 4 extra holes drilled in the upper portion, as I understand it. If you have some, or know of some, please share!

trochoid- I actually read that thread when I was researching the setup to use on my weber 45. But those were weber jets, and they are different from the Dellorto.

Jeff20B- I'll do that, I'm ordering a bunch of jets and rebuild kit, fuel union, new mixture screws, etc. from the UK, but still missing the most important part of the deal, gotta have the right e-tubes, unmodified the .8's will usable, but not suitable. BTW- Picked up some motor mounts/pucks to install too. LOL Also bought a new Mallory fuel pump for this setup. Damn! that thing is quiet. I think I'm in love. Soon as I can get this Dell sorted out it's on to the ignition and my direct fire.

SO IF ANYONE HAS A SET OF RB DELLORTO TUBES, PLEASE POST PICS. NEED SIZE AND LOCATION OF ADDED HOLES. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great! thak you! Anyone know if the 13b RB tubes are the same as 12as? I would think so, just jetting would be different, right?

Alright, my rebuild kit, a bunch of different jets, a spare set of e-tubes, and fuel union and mixture screws left the UK day before yesterday, so I'm going to need this info/pics soon, PLEASE.

Also, I'm gathering all the info I can on The DHLA carbs, so if you have one, pm me with your motor setup and jetting please. As well as any links to good info on these and any other pertinent info. When I've got it all together and get mine tuned, I'll make another post like the one I did for the weber sidedrafts and share all the info in one place for all to bebefit from.

I would have posted earlier in here but I don't have much to add.

My Dell as bought from RB almost 20 years ago is jetted the same
as descibed on the gruntled site. I do believe the e tubes are the
same for the SP vs stock port, just jetting differences. The extra
holes will help with the flat spot or bog issue from what I understand,
so yeah you probably want them. You should post a want to buy
in the 1st gen and racing sections and see if anyone maybe has
some to spare.

one320fc and t_g_farrell - if one or both of you could enscrew the jet cover, remove the tube and document the holes sizes and placements I'd greatly appreciate it. It only takes a couple minutes and will save me much time, money and frustration. Or anyone else that has these for that matter.
Thanks
Ray

Allright all, my jets rebuild kit etc. arrived from Italy. so I could REALLY use this info. The e-tubes on the Dellorto only take a minute to pull. And it won't affect your tune. I just need to know the size and plcement of the holes in the tube, so I can reproduce them. Pics would be awsome. But anything is better than nothing.

Also, any of you running a Dellorto 48, I'd appreciate you listing your jetting. I may be puttuing this on a different motor, so I'd like a range of baseline jetting to work with.

just to point out..i have a 12a and i had a rb dellorto 48 dhla that was jetted for a 13b. The only thing other than buying new jets, we had to drill a hole in the top of the idle jet holders. The ones that i ordered from Dellorto didnt have a bleed hole on top, that is what Jeff is saying that me and Lloyd messed with, other than that it, rb did drill a few more holes in the emulsion tubes, i havent heard of to many ppl using a dellorto carb that wasnt from RB
