Power Window buttons - Drivers Side

Does anyone know where I could find two replacement plastics for the buttons on the driver side window switch? Both of my buttons broke. The switch itself is perfect. Just the plastic stem assembly broke off from the actual button. I can probably rig something up, but would love to find the correct pieces without having to buy a whole new $190 switch assembly. Thanks in advance!

there is a guy in japan 3d printing them, they are $80 plus shipping though, so the $190 switch is the same money still

pretty sure i have a good top half of a S4 switch panel. let me know if that is the series you need.

$80 plus shipping for a 3d printed pair? lol, the insight guys host files for you to take down to kinkos to make your own for a couple bucks.

i looked into 3d printing this year, and the machines require a LOT of setup and maintenance. the dialed in machine turned out really accurate and consistent results, the not dialed in machine was like 3mm +/-, which is not even good enough to do a window switch.

its also expensive, a pair of switch buttons is probably $20 in materials.

currently its easier to just send the CAD file to a place like shapeways and let them print it on the $10,000 printer that they know how to use.

the prices have been coming down a lot and the quality of the lower end units is coming up some. you can get a decent small printer for about $500. the materials aren't quite that expensive either.

I had thought about a 3D printed solution. Where would I get the drawing for it though?

youd have to make your own with measurements. it is a time intensive procedure but once you have that done they are like baking cookies.

I'd have to imagine someone has done this already. I'd hate to reinvent the wheel on this. I suppose I can try to glue it all back together. I found pvc pipe primer and and cement work really well to hold together plastic, but I'm sure it would only last a short time.

if someone here had they would probably be for sale or put up files for parts. thing is, the majority of FC owners may have been broke college kids, now they're hopefully college graduates but still scraping by trying to find work in a shitty economy with a saturated workforce full of people willing to do anything for a nickel.

that means there aren't many who have $600-1000 to invest into a system in order to make a few switches for a couple bucks a piece.

the insight crowd is full of retirees who like to tinker, who can afford the time and money on such things. so yeah, i guess i'd be surprised if you saw many 3D printed parts for honda civics, 240's and older poopras.
