i wish mine got those numbers.. will emissions removal kill gas milage? i get about 14 on the highway.. if my calculations are right.

If anyone wants to check me, here's how i got it.. I take the highway to school, 28 miles there, 29 miles back. so that 57 total. it takes me a quarter of a tank to get there and back.. so.. the tank holds approximately 16.5 gallons, divide by 4 and get 4.125 gallons for a 1/4th of a tank.. then take my 57 miles/ 4.125 gallons.. 13.8 miles to a gallon of gas.. woo, that's depressing..

No...divide miles by gallons to fill the tank. Don't estimate by the marks on the gas gauge.

Fill up your tank, reset the trip meter. When you fill up next, THEN calculate your mileage. Divide miles by gallons, that'll give miles per gallon. The more miles you drive, the more accurate it'll be, considering start-up, etc.

So if you drive 240 miles, and fill up 12 gallons, you'd be getting 20 mpg. Estimating from your gauge will be VERY inaccurate.

All the catalytic converter does is clean your emissions. It should have no effect on gas mileage.

Doing about the same mileage I get 21-22mpg, for comparison.

I know Bob. It's funny when someone wants to be accurate about gas mileage, then calculates it from their gas gauge, comparing it to their tank's size, and approximate mileage driven.

I had a CRX HF that got about 150 miles on one trip before dipping below the Full mark. On the return trip, it was near 1/4 tank. It only holds a little over 10 gallons. (40-50mpg)

Averaging 70mph I get 28mpg on rural roads. Around the city it is 22mpg in medium traffic.

I fill the tank and measure consumption by comparing distance travelled from the last fill to the fuel to top the tank.

In addition I keep the fuel invoices for tax purposes thus can get an accurate figure for the year. Last year I averaged 25.27mpg for 7,032miles travelled.

I've been getting 26 on the highway when i just cruise around seventy and I've been getting 20-22 in town, I've got all emissions stuff except the smog pump and 180,000 on the clock. It wasnt as good before I changed plugs and the fuel filter -what a difference a minor tune up will do
