Any sources for OMP lines for 85 12A
Looking to rebuild/reseal my OMP on my 85 GS with 12A. Concerned that the OMP lines may need to be replaced. Any good sources to get them? Can only find one of the two available.
I really do not want to not block off the OMP system. I already run premix ( 1/2 oz to gallon).
Hoping lines are good but want to get some just in case.

I've ordered some from Mazda and Atkins for my FD with no issues.
Here a link to new lines from Atkins
84-85 13B Rx7 Oil Metering Line Kit (ARE100)
I have several sets of used one and would sell for like $50 shipped if you are interested.

A layer of wire loom may help with heat also.
We had a set on one of the cars for 5 years/20k miles without problems, the new owner still drives it, and I don't believe he has problems either. I will have to ask.

Mazdatrix (and therefore, maybe Mazda?) still has the SHORT lines avai:

Have heard this line can be used on either fitting?? (i.e. it reaches the further nipple on the carb as well)
Is it worth $20 to find out?

silicon hose is not suitable and will fail. You also can't see whether oil is making its way up the lines.
This thread has details on a suitable upgrade for the OEM transparent lines: AusRotary.com ? View topic - OMP lines - how to fix them properly for stuff all.
The link is for an Australian supplier but you will be able to find an equivalent product cheaper from a generic hose supplier in the US. It's basically 600F rates PTFE (teflon) clear hose OD 3/16" ID 1/8" You need about 7 feet to make new lines.
You can also buy stainless steel OTK clamps that match the original to connect the banjos.

Looks like MazdaTrix has a DIY option for these lines.
Anyone know if this is truly plug n play or is there some pain associated with this?
What does one use for clamps?
Thanks.

so mazdatrix (the premiere rx-7 shop) is down to jerry rigging OMP lines? I've used 1/8 id the smallest oil/fuel lines available from autozone, oreily's, adavance auto, etc. Verified that they worked with the 6 minute 2000 rpm test outline in clymers and chilton's auto repair manuals.
I used the smallest hose clamp that you screw to secure the OMP lines on the pump.

$2 a foot really isn't so bad for this type of tubing. I recently purchased a similar flavor from McMaster Carr that ran me 20 bucks for a 5 foot length. Interesting to see Mazdatrix offering it though.
For permanent clamps on the banjos I use regular old crimp/pincer/pinch clamps like Mazda used originally. They're likely available many places, but McMaster has them in abundance. For the other carb setups I just reuse the stock spring clamps.

I bought the line set from Atkins, yes one is incorrect but they work just fine.
I tried making my own lines with those nice clamps on some good rubber hose and they kept leaking, which is why I just bought new instead of screwing around.

Atkins has these for $50.00, both lines but they are both the short lines but usable.

So, my RX7 is about 100 miles from here and I don't know how many oil metering lines it needs at this point. I've seen stuff at both Atkins and Mazdatrix. Can anyone help me as to which of the hose sets would work on a 79RX7? I find myself in a steep learning curve here trying to get the beast back up and running so I can hide it from New Hampshire salt.
Thank You.

Glassman-
you need TWO. One (the short one) is still avai new from Mazda.
My source (lots of others, but these guys always treat me right): Mazdatrix:

This is raw hose, but will work fine...

So, is it the case that the metering hoses remain the same on all models using the 12A engine? I'm trying to discern which set is going to work on the 79RX and the offerings are all a bit different from these parts houses.
Thank You.
Thank You.
