EVG Performance Manchester

I was in the neighborhood yesterday, and decided to drop in and check these guys out. They do not claim to be rotary specialists, but they are knowledgable. Had a nice FD they were wrapping up, and a couple other 7s in the lot. They have access to a local dyno and a rotary tuner they work with. Great people in general, will give you their time, and are passionate about performance.

Love the Mazdaspeed stuff! You are a bit further along than me, and I needed the motivation, so thanks!

Thanks! Everything except the spoiler came with the car. Apparently the previous owner had a thing for the OEM+ brand. They had a white FC there the other day that they showed on their Instagram story. Was that yours?

I will have to stop in one day with my 8. Do these guys do dyno tuning on rotaries or do you know anyone in the area that does?

From what they told me, they have a remote tuner they use, and they have access to Kinetic’s dyno.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Its what they are going to be doing to my RX7 in the coming weeks. They are in the process of wiring up the Haltech elite 1500 and setting up methanol control through it. Im gonna be taking the day off from work when they go to tune it so I can be there and watch it go either really well, or really bad. Should be quite the event either way. Kinetics shop is also extremely nice even though they basically only work on Subaru's there. Ive had another car dynoed their twice and the whole crew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They also have one of, if not the only AWD Dyno that I know of in New Hampshire.

Small world, but I was the welder/fabricator of that dyno, back when I worked for Land and Sea. I worked there with the original owner of Trick Engineering, which became Kinetic.

Damn man, small world indeed! Any idea why they went with a mustang dyno over something like a Dynojet at the time? I dont like how low they read sometimes.

Well, possibly a new dyno then. It was a dynomite dyno. I hate to admit how long we are going back.

Just checked a Dyno Sheet from when I had my Kia stinger Dynoed there, You are correct, it is a Dynomite Dyno still. Not sure why I thought it was a mustang dyno. Ended up making 450awhp that day according to the chart, but they told me that its probably a bit higher cuz the dyno can read up to 8% low sometimes. Makes sense as I was running low 11s in a 2 ton car. What a great car that was. I regret selling it.

Their claim was always accuracy and no 15% correction factor like some competitors.

Oh, it very well could be 8% off. Their has to be tolerances in production, even if all their math was correct. They would test or calibrate the dynos going out the door with the owners Rav4.

That had to be a site to see for anyone pulling up at the time, I cant imagine most people would expect to see a Rav4 on a dyno lol

Great information, thanks guys! I spoke to Rich over the phone and he was very nice, I will be stopping by later today around 4pm to check it out. Looking to have helper springs installed on my sakebomb ohlins FP, a corner balance, touch up on my track alignment and possible tuning in the future.

Lol, here you go, enjoy! I mainly only use it for autocross and trackdays, if you are interested I can get you connected with our autocross group in Ayer Mass, one of the best venues in the country.

Where in NH are you? I am over in Candia.

Your car is seriously clean my dude! Looks awesome! I am in the Merrimack/Nashua area and will def be doing autocross/trackdays at some point with the car, but will probably take the first summer to get the car broken in and make small adjustments to the tune here and there first. We want it to be Daily drivable as well as trackable so the plan is to have a bunch of different maps for it, selectable with a dial.

Thanks, it is the cleanest rx8 I have seen in person yet. I bought it about two years ago with 22,500 miles, and it has about 28,000 miles now. You have to share your FD now.
I have only actually seen a couple in person, have yet to drive one or even sit in one sadly. You are welcome to message me and reach out if you want to come and ride along for a day of autox, always fun to get people hooked on it.

Id love to take you up on that, Im sure it would be a blast! If youre planning to stop by their shop around 4 today then you will 100% see my car there, as its been there for the last like month and a half waiting on a harness to come in from haltech. thankfully that finally arrived on friday. For now the only decent pictures I have of it are from their instagram because it came off the truck and basically went straight to them.

No Idea who's FC that is.

Took This photo 4 hours after It came off the delivery truck. Took the opportunity to wash her and my daily by hand in near freezing temps. Note - This photo is not at EVG, This photo is a shop owned by someone I know personally.

Looks well setup from what I can see. Eventually I would love to own a stock Spirit R Type-A in that beautiful Blue Mica, my literal dream car. I would probably need to be a millionaire to justify the cost of that one
