I've been wondering the same. Missing his vast knowledge and willingness to share it.

I texted him a lot but he stopped answering last September. I was going to ask here if anyone else had heard from him.

Mike was helping me about a year ago as I was bringing my GSL-SE back to life. He suddenly stopped communicating and has not responded to my emails, texts or phone calls. I do know he had some medical issues that he was dealing with and was in/out of the hospital as we were communicating.
He averaged a couple of posts a day, so I am definitely concerned that we haven't heard from him.

Anyone have his address or can look at property records to get it? Possibly send him a letter? I was just thinking that if something did happen hopefully they'd return the correspondence or something to update us. Yeah, it may be weird to receive an unsolicited letter from the forum but I don't know, may lend answers.

Below find some exerts from my last contact with Mike last July 4th. These are from an extended pm exchange we had regarding some hatch hinges and his health situation. He shared lots of personal details on the latter, which I won't include here, but to summarize his health situation was very serious and highly unpleasant, with lots of surgeries and complications. He also told me he was trying to take care of his 88 year old mother to keep her out of the hospital and that he'd sold his house, which he loved, because the upkeep had become too much. But he had plans to buy another "after I'm transplanted"

Re: hatch hinge
Hi Mike,
Good to see you posting again! I've got those rear hatch hinges ready to go if you still need them, just send me a mailing address.
Thanks Ray,
(deleting a couple of extended exchanges here involved his illness)
Appreciate the remarks. Kinda feel like i know you, though we've never as much as spoken on the phone. Looking forward to catching up one day over a couple of beers, has been over 9 years since i had my last.
My brain currently is so scattered i can't think of any other items needed at the moment. The hinges will be wonderful and please don't spend a lot of time painting them, they'll likely get glass beaded with all other trim parts and painted at same time so everything matches. Thanks much. -Mike
Hi Mike,
Hinges went out in the mail this morning, you'll have them in two days. I should have realized beer could be a problem with a kidney ailment, but with your new kidney maybe a possibility? A cooler, a boat and some bass fishing sounds good. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks
Ray
Yes, new to me kidney and boat caught striped bass don't count. Thanks Ray. -Mike
I was thinking large mouth bass but if you mean surf casting I could get into that too, I'm pretty good with a rod and sitting on a beach in a lawn chair. Take care, keep me posted.
Thanks
Ray
Thank you for the hinges Ray, they're very nice, look like a million bucks - with the hardware!
Oh and when Mrs big striped bass comes calling-all large striped bass are female-she'll lift you right out of that beach chair and it's on! -Mike.
Hi Mike,
If one of those strippers puts up half the fuss of a 40 lb. carp on light tackle from Pipe Creek in rural Bunker Hill Indiana I'll be happy.
Stripers Ray, stripers...the extra p denotes an entirely different meaning.

Letter update-
In late August I mailed a letter to a known good address for Mike. It came back today marked as undeliverable at that address and not forwardable.

Thank you for providing an update. With his address you can go to the county auditor's site and look up his address. This way you can see who owns the home and if there are any recent sales. This is of course assuming he or his family owned the home you sent the letter to.
