Did the rattle can annual painting. Costs less than waxing and is less work.
And figured out that soaking clogged nozzles one week in brake cleaner cleans them. and figured out that after using a spray paint can, to clear the nozzles, remove them, stick them on a brake cleaner spray can, spray brake cleaner through them, and then spray brake cleaner on the tube on top of the spray paint can.
Everyone's fine. It was the family shop which was a big post frame building with 25% of it with enclosed shop. Block heater cable or battery blanket started on fire and extended to the building.
Lost the racecar, 15 years of parts accumulation and spares and engines (I also have a daily driver version that thankfully was in the seacan and not the shop), the 61 sunbeam alpine, the 63 lincoln continental, two tractors and a family farm's worth of tools, equipment and memories.
Wow, one of my biggest fears after building my shop a couple years ago. I'm so sorry this happened, but you have the right perspective, at least no one was injured.
That is truly sad my friend, but glad everyone is OK! I learned how to drive a manual transmission in my late fathers Sunbeam Rapier back in the early 1960's. Wonderful automobiles!
p.s
Put my RX7 up for the year early, moving forward the weather isn't looking very good through this month here. But there is "always" Spring to look forward too!
I don’t feel bad about crashing a racecar. There’s always a chance it could happen even if it is t your fault. But have one burn to the ground is definitely a bummer. I’m glad nobody was injured in the fire. If you were closer to me I would give you all of my spare parts that I no longer need at a very reasonable price.
Having a had tough old man, and almost thirty years in the navy will produce those results iowa_hawk1, plus I've had to lay in a lot of **** over the years working on cars and it's nice to have a clean floor to lay on when working on them now.
:-)

But just stuff - could've been much worse.
That's rough, sorry to hear about that. Hope you have insurance at least.
Finally replaced the belts which has totally changed the driving experience since I usually shifted early due to a terrible rattle above 4k rpm. With the new belts and pulley fasteners tightened up it doesn't rattle anymore.
