Why cut up the engine bay and just move the battery to the passenger side storage bin?

Well it still sounds like an awesome start to a build, can't wait to see some progress if you decide to move forward!

Ok I'm easily entertained. I admit it.
So that kit works well I assume? I wanted to convert my last car to auto locks but never got around to it. If they are reliable I'll probably get a kit for my current car. Does it include a hatch release too? The key I have for this car doesn't unlock the cylinder for the rear hatch release and it's really annoying. I have yet to check the glove box and storage bins to see if the key locks them or not.

Thanks man, I appreciate that comment! I feel like in the year I was away from the rotary community I was forced to mature a lot and make some tough decisions that matured me a lot. I'll always be learning throughout life and my goal is to make every day better than the last. It's tough doing that in college, but I've only got 4 weeks of classes left and need to make every day count. This build isn't going to be as hardcore as the other one was because it'll be more focused on making a reliable cruiser car, not a racer.

Haha that made me chuckle for sure, I hope you get your suspension figured out so you can run those sexy Epsilons without ruining tires, fenders or wheels! Dang they look good...

Alright fellas, I'm having a hard time with timing right now and feel completely stupid because of it. Why I think it's timing that's preventing this car from starting:
1. Spark is good at the plugs
2. The car doesn't even sputter when cranking, not even a hint of it trying to fire
3. Plugs are more than wet enough
4. Previous owner did a distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires with no rotary knowledge

This is the post that I've been using most heavily and I need to know if I'm doing this right:
(IGNITION) How to find TDC? - Direct Post I'm Referring To
"SUB-TOPIC for aluminum or lightened steel flywheels including automatic trannies:
Remove inspection plate on top of bellhousing/engine. Rotate the engine until the tip of the rear counterweight is visible That should get you to TDC."

My car is an auto so it has the 12a auto counterweight and stock flexplate installed right now.

So the biggest question I have is what direction this should be facing at TDC from the top inspection plate between the transmission and rear iron:
Option 1 - orignal direction the picture was taken. This would mean the key for the rear counterweight would be 180* opposite of the 9'o-clock orientation of the keyway of the front pulley bolt when installed. So when looking for the timing I'd be looking at the first tip of the rear counterweight to come into the line of sight through the inspection plate.

Option 2 - rotated direction of the original picture. This would mean the key for the rear counterweight would be in line with the orientation of the 9'o-clock orientation of the keyway of the front pulley bolt when installed. So when looking for timing I'd be looking at the ending tip of the rear counterweight to come into the line of sight through the inspection plate.

Any help would be appreciated, I need it right now!

Today I got a rental car so I can commute down to ArmyOfOne's place and shave the engine bay. Finally getting all the brake and clutch cylinders cleaned and repainted. Decided we'll be going matte-black for the bay color, which will make the polish and chrome pop, and the few remaining braided wires, hoses, and hard-lines will be black and disappear.

Also found a vid with three of the local guy's featured I see your posse turbogslse!!

Works really well, I've had them in now for 6 or 7 years at least. For comparison I got some egay ones
to use in my truck and they keep splitting the solenoid housings and *&^*ing up in general. Good
thing I got a kit for 4 doors so I had spare housings to repair it with. The BD kit was install it and
forget it.

Don't worry about it; it's an engine technology that's too advanced for some people to grasp.

lol. I had 3 second gen's and a wicked NA rotary, but have never built a SBC.

that and economically it's probably cheaper hp per $.

still loved the 7,000 rpms

my son told on me to his mom, he would watch the tach and say i couldn't go past 4k.

you know how kids are ...one minute it's go fast daddy, the next minute the $hit their pants hehe

Thanks! ArmyOfOne is running the welder ( i have extremely limited welding experience ) - I'm just the spotter making sure it doesnt drip into the interior and set everything up in flames, and helping out with the grinding once he's done.

Also taking the opportunity to repaint all the bay accessories a fresh coat of satin black.

Good to hear, I'll be ordering a set and installing over the winter - thanks for the recommendation!

Talked my wife into re-creating these IMSA decals in Illustrator. Then took them to a sign shop and had several vinyl decals cut:

While I was there, I got a bunch of blue vinyl to make the windshield banner. Also got a little black vinyl and made the Mazda logos for the side of the car. A few more to go, but I'm waiting on things.

This reminds me that I need to get my header re-drilled and a custom intake fabbed for my 13BPP.

Thanks to a delivery from j9fd3s, I was able to put the finishing touches on my FB today.
