I spent many hours polishing it and then put a topcoat of clear powder coating. I did the same thing with the alternator.

Yeah, I'm just a little OCD when it comes to mechanicals.

the other day i ordered new o-rings for the Sanden a/c system on my 85 GS> i only ordered a couple of each. when the o-rings came in, they came in in a bundle and all with a label of NLA. so needless to say, i bought them all. so, the o-rings for the Sanden system are now no longer available (except for the large o-ring on the compressor). here are a copuple pics of the now unobtanium o-rings:

In this case, "NLA" stands for Norsk Langsdenstruuden Artfunken... Norwegian Rubber Fabricators, the company that made them.

No, not really; I totally made that up. Made you look, though.

Nice score; maybe you can micrometer them and post dimensions against part numbers in case others need them in future?

i'd definatly be happy to do that! i bought an o-ring kit from napa that was supposed to be for th e85 with sanden air, but it was missing one o-ring. it lacks the small compresor o-ring. of course that ne was NLA from the dealer. its listed as "o-ring sae 114 (discharge)". part number was 0000-67-0123-38. but i compared the old one to the one in my metric o-ring kit and it matched up pretty well and seems to be sealing. before hand though, i compared it to the o-rings in the sae o-ring kit that i have and there was no size close.

also to add to the realm of unobtanium, i bought the last MOMO shift ****/boot combo for my 88 10th Anniversary. was the last one ever sold un the U.S. it originally listed for nearly $375. since i have an preferred account at the Mazda dealer, i was able to buy it for a shade over $230 (did not come with the plastic shift surround). definatly worth the money because of the restoration i've been doing on my 10AE. here are the pics:

Dave and Stu,

Hate to tell both of you about it but about 2 years back Mazda told me that the 10th AE **** shift boot was NLA .... amazingly enough they were able to find "what they said" was the last one and got it to make 2 that I have for both our AEs. Obviously Mazda doesn't track their inventory like they should so there might still be more out there. With that said I will have to post the pics when I get home but for our AEs we got the following NOS

2 Lock sets
1 set Floor mats
1 10th AE bra
2 sets of A pillar trims
2 sets of floor mat patches
2 shift **** sets.
2 sets of fender badges
