Beauty! I've already got some utterly stupid ideas brewing!
Interesting.... Challer's and Stu's joysticks appear chromed... but these are black... Alternate builds? Two suppliers? Dealer replacement part?

Well, I finally got around to getting the 7 cleaned up and a new camera that takes pictures. Here is my 79'. Rotor Sports Racing built the engine its a Street-ported 12A with a Racing Beat Holley setup. Its got full Re-Speed coil overs with 5-way adjustable Tokico Illuminas. Here she is in all her beauty...

Its a piece of solid aluminum, with aluminum tubing welded to it. I then used rubber plumbing connectors from Lowes to tie it together. I designed it, CADed it, programmed it and cut it on a CNC for a project i was doing during my apprenticeship as a die/mold maker.
Liking the wheels too Rob - and that is saying something for a dyed-in-the-wool waffle-lover. And the Carb Hat IS to an amazing piece of work - well done - that's show-car stuff, methinks-

PM on it's way. I found a pair of fairly similar joyswitches (out of an early 80's Jag) that I think I can use with a hand-cast replica of your bracket to make a near-lookalike control unit.
Verified last night - my car has pre-wire for electric mirrors under the dash.
Clearly, it is made of 100% AWESOME. Beautiful work.
Glen, post a want to buy ad here on the forum and see if you can pick up a set of oem switches. i'll post an ad on www.ohiorotaries.com if you'd like.

That'd take all the fun out of it, wouldn't it?
Seriously, I'll probably do that if this doesn't work out, but at the moment I'm having fun Frankensteining it. I got the impression that the dual-stick switches were rare enough that it would be futile trying to buy one for anything like reasonable money.

Ask and ye shall receive...
owned by a Dr. in Japan I ran into on the 'net. This color was "the" promotional color-of-choice when the SA was introduced in Japan. Never an exported color, that I can tell (our Ozzie mates may know otherwise). This color was exclusive to the Top o' The Line "Limited" model, No sunroof avai in early production SA's for JDM, as everything went to USA market first - in "factoid" -
NO market outside US received sunroofed SAs...AFAIK

Stu, that car has an interesting mix of details. It has the speaker grill in the dash with what looks like a standard radio AND a tape player (only tape players available in US cars before 80 was in the LE's) Also has the instrument cluster and covered steering wheel in US 79LE's. The two tone amber/yellow turn singal lights in the front bumber are kinf of neat too. Nice Car.
