Picked it up from HOZZMANRX7 and have no clue where it goes. He threw it in with the parts car. So I'm confused as to what it is and what it does.
This is a luggage bar. Mounts on the foward edge of the rear deck to keep bags or packeges from sliding foward, into the seat backs during hard braking.

Yea, you should see how long it takes to wake her up.

I've got plans, but I need a job and pay down some debt first.

Will try to rebuild (depends on part availability), but may have to V8 with 2 power pulse mufflers. Or possibly RX8 motor.

Did your stereo surround panel come out of an 81 or later? It looks different. In the US, 79 and 80 pannels were not recessed where the three switches along the bottom or where the vent/defroster controls are. Also, the design of the images and printing on the control pannel itself is different. Just curious if you used a later year part or if it's different due to US vs. European specs.

No it's definitely out of a UK '80, plus the console in the '80 parts car I've got is identical albeit hacked about for a modern stereo. Funny you should say that about the switches though - the symbols on the switches that came out are slightly different, these ones appear more dated to me so kept with them.

Another thing, I've changed the clocks on this one as it's of Swiss origin (so in KM's) and the backlight on the Swiss clocks were green whereas the clocks that went in (from UK '80) were orange as was the illuminated ring on the cigar lighter.

Symbology on the heater controls on the above panel differs from US standard, too... same functions, different icons.

Wow, re-reading this thread is a stroll down memory lane from the last three years. Fun to look back and see how much my car has changed in the meantime.

Funny how there are so many small differences between markets. What are your heater control markings like?

US 80's look like this: English text instead of icons.

The icon approach made the car language-agnostic for the European market, I'll wager.

Interesting. Your lever ends are different to mine too-mine are more like S2 types and the ones on my '80 parts car are different again.

We could go on lol.

I prefer your style rear clusters though - with your tail lights on the outside which I assume gives you the side markers too in that configuration.

I'm after a pair of US spec front direction indicator lenses-I love the tango look whereas the trend over here is to de-tango. Got any spares DD?

Sadly, no spare lighting components at all; mine are still original, and their age is starting to show.
