did it shut off because it just would not idle, or did it shut off while driving it (above idle speeds)

the smoking all the way down the street is not a good sign. a flooded rotary will only smoke for a few seconds untill all the fuel is out of the engine. I sure hope that was fuel smnoke and not water smoke!

it could just be seals, or the engine could be junk from abuse or overheating so you would need a new one, but if it could still run you still got apex seals so its probably not that bad, just coolant seal replacement, on the other hand if you go through the trouble of coolant seal replacement you might as well get a full rebuild, to eliminate a bunch of future problems, How many miles are on you engine? and and contact Zero (Ray) he might want to sell you his engine ok

exactly, it COULD be just the coolant seals, but more then likley what happend is the "bridge" that holds that seal in place broke, causing the seal to move out of the way. I had this happen to one of my cars. (the car Vipers has now) . In this case you will need a new side housing (whic ever one that broke) honestly the easiest fix is to get a used engine from someone/someplace.

does/has your engine seem lose water for lno reason in the last few weeks? problems with over heating? and progressivly hard starting? and when it does start it blows a lot of white smoke for a few seconds? if so then i can pretty much tell you that this is the problem.

I lost water/coolant from the upper Rad hose that goes to the water pump, never overheated but temp got high for no reason sometimes and the idle was off i think that's why it got hot. It did blow out smoke from what i could see it was more blue that white but it may have been white.

you didnt lose water from that radiator hose, the overall level of coolant just dropped down, so was adding water/coolant begining to be a weekly routine the last few weeks of driving, what is your current mileage on the odometer

300 what?

Did you always have to add more coolant on a weekly basis?
What is the odometer reading? how many miles are on you car?

man we went to azusa after the meet on friday...

i experienced some new and badass touge driving style from ur homie brian.
it was VERY VERY FAST!!! he needs just little brush up.
we are actually getting along pretty good.. these are good and cool
local fc guys.
do u know mike's car is ******* loud now?? it's x2 louder than mine.
it sounds like the old school ported 13b's or FBs with no cat.

at azusa they are making Fast And the Furious Tokyo, which is ff3
did u guys know that??

i just found out.... little bow wow is the main character...
what a dis to the racers....

there was 2 t2's.... and our meet looked like a driftcrew gathering...
we actually received a lots of attention from random spectators....

i guess nothing is cooler than FC's...

we had almost all the colors too hehe....

looks like next week is going to be even better,
if all the in-n-out mistakees join my meet...

o ya btw, i started my own meet down here...

im still comming to san bernardino tho =)

what's brian's SN?

Count me in on 1 more RX-7(FD) to add to the meet. Love driving the 7 again, its awesome to see the look on those STI and EVO guys faces when I leave them in my dust. I cant wait to have it tuned for 20-24psi and driving it around....I'm finally getting my tires(Toyo RA-1) for my Volk LE37 rims, get'um Wednesday this week.

Casey, How's the race car going??

it's a never ending battle with this car. I take 1 step forward, and I take 3 steps back.

Friday I put the new MSD coils in the car, and it seemed to have fixed my problem. (you know that problem i have been having for 3 freakin years now). when i had the rev limiter set to 7, it went to 7, when i had it set to 8, it went to 8, when i had it set to 9, it went to 9!!!!

everything is good right?

NO, the next day we decided to put the MSD int he right way, (we HAD ios sitting on the windhield, and wires run all over the place, so we put it in like it should be. MSD sitting on the back wall. Looks good!) and when we started the car, it runs horable again. the damn thing will not rev like it is supposed to, I drove it up the street and it is VERY SLOW! it wont even do a burn out!

Then all the sudden the engine starts smoking out the tail pipe, AND starts puking oil out of the engine (coming from the front cover/front plate). Its puking it out so bad i cant even run the car to try and fix the not reving problem.

You interested in buying a race car that never see's the track, and will give you headach after headach?

I called the engine builder to see if he can come out and figure the oil leak out. hopefully he can get out here somewhat soon as there is nothing i can do to the car untill that is fixed.

I am starting to like the M80 inside the fuel tank Idea!

im telling you...... after all the money your spending, your better off going back to fuel injestion and putting a 13b-t in it........i have 80% of everything you need (all manifolds, turbo, throttle body, all oil lines, intercooler, mass air..blah blah blah......you just need an ecu, and injectors!) we could have that thing running like a cheetah in a matter of 2 weeks! come on....take your losses, and get smart!......... and you can still use your bridgeported motor!

damn casey...think about that! a bridgeported, turboed (and nitrous) 2000lb car!
11 seconds here we come!

........... thats not a half bad idea, i just hate the thought of going to all stock injection. wont the computer freak out with a bridge port, I dont see how that would be possible for the stock ECU to handle that. would have to go stand alone....... right?

forget the stock ecu and go stand alone... you won't regret it.

stock ecu will be fine for now, alot of people use stock ecus........ just need a piggyback like my s-afc2......... but a stand-alone would only help!

and it wont be stock injection if (and you'll have to) you upgrade the injectors!
