So I got a ******* flat on the way home from work tomorrow (diff car, not the 7) and so there I am on the left shoulder waiting 2 hours. I determined my roadside was retarded and was never going to call me back so I had a friend come by with the stuff to put on the spare (i'd recently rotated the tires myself so I had the spare in the trunk but not the tools to get the lugs off or operate the jack). So finally after 2 hours we get the spare on and we have a cigarette cos I'm ******* just bushed now from stress and **** when FINALLY a ******* bike cop pulls up and is like, "Uh whats going on guys?" We're just like, "Yeah we just got the spare on." To which he says, "Uh ok move along then." ******* worthless cops, FINALLY shows up when I'm done and have no need for him, and didn't even provide and help merging back onto the freeway, I just had to gun it on the little donut and hope the guy had good brakes, ****. Basically I'm pissed cos if a normal cruiser had just stopped and asked whats up he would've found out all I needed was something to remove the lugs and get the jack up and thus I could've been home by the time the bike cop showed up. Fawk.

Ok that probably didn't make much sense just wanted to vent.

Edit: Oh yeah this was on the freeway which is why it sucked so much *****. Had it been on surface streets it'd of been no biggie.

If any of you guys are ever in Reno/Sparks, watch out for the Sparks cops.

I had to yield to traffic while making a left, there was a cop behind me and I knew it, a car was coming but I accelerated quickly and got by in front of the guy. He didn't put on his brakes or honk and kept going straight. And the cop behind me went straight through the light. It was only a few minutes later when i happened to turn out in front of the cop again that he caught up to me and gave me a ticket.

I fought the ticket and got off the hook, and I recomend that every one does the same. Don't make it easy for them.

90% of people actually just accept the tickets. Odds are if you're not an idiot, and can make the judge believe your somewhat logical (although complete bullshit) story, then you have a good chance of getting out of the ticket. I don't know about California, but in Arizona the judge actually sides with you opposed to the cop. Sometimes they don't even show up if you challenge it, and it's an automatic win. The officer must be present if you happen to challenge the ticket.

You know that calibration bullshit, about having the radars calibrated. I actually got away with that.. seeing how I do electronic calibration for avionics for the military - I had lots of points to throw about why their equiptment may not be accurate. Of course I was speeding , but not enough to make the judge be sure of it. I believe the ticket was for 10mph over.... if it had been 15+ then I might not have won.

Just play your cards right... make the story sound reasonable and be professional. Only downside to challenging a ticket is that you do not get the option to take a defensive driving course if you lose, so it goes on your record regardless. But the court system also says you can't take traffic school more than once every 2 years to get rid of a ticket.. and I've managed to take it 5 times in the past 3 1/2 years... you do the math.

maybe a month ago my friend (pedestrian) got a ticket for obstructing traffic when he crossed the street and and sassed a cop that nearly ran him over from a dead stop a block and an intersection away. Went to court and the cop lied through his teeth and the judge believed him. Now my no-licence friend has a ticket on his record. fkd up.

Of couse they are you moron ! WHO keeps on looking for their keys once you found them... ???

So the only times you guys run into cops is when you're in troubble, other than that you see some guy driving bye on a motorcycle or in a squad car... now he might notice you, and say to himself "Nah, he seems allright" does he get props from you, saying that that was a cool cop ? No, why ? You didn't even know about it. And how often does a cop go, DAMN ! I'm gonna get that guy, bother to flip a bitch. chase after your sorry ***, just to go, you're a real nice kid, I'll let you go ??

With that statement, know this I'm not an officer, I don't have any officers in the family, and I work as a Artist/Technitian for a local company. I'm just trying to reason with you guys, and make you realize that your perspective is skewed...

As much as it sucks to be profiled, and pulled over, everyone can change the situation by selling their car, driving slower, or all of the above, and a cop is much less likely to pull over a camry making an illegal left, unless that's what he's there for... trffic duty.... don't make yourself a target and you'll be allright.... it's you guys with wings and exhaust, and body kit etc... that makes yourselves a target...

I'm sorry I have to disagree with this completely. I have dealt with cops when I haven't been in trouble, rather distressed and they've still been dicks. Like when I broke down on the side of the road and I've been there for maybe an hour trying to fix it when the cop pulls up and says move your car or I'm impounding it. I mean wtf...no offer to help or anything like that, rather..."move your car". I'm sorry...a lot of cops were the kids who were picked on in highschool and are on a power trip now since they have a badge and a gun.

I don't have a wing or a body kit, and my exhaust looks and sounds fairly stock. Even then, I know I drive an rx-7, so I'm instantly a target, but at the same time I shouldn't have to drive a minivan to avoid being pulled over. Since you think profiling is ok, I guess you must be white. I am too, but I have several hispanic friends, and have even been in the car with them when nothing has gone wrong and they've been pulled over and have been harassed. We laugh sometimes cuz most of them are the whitest mexicans you've seen, and yet this happens. Seeing as how they can't change the color of their skin, it doesn't matter if they buy a minivan or a camaro, they're gonna get pulled over anyways. Just realize that yah, there are cops out there who profile someone by the color of their skin, and its safe to assume that that's not going away anytime soon. So that may be what "skews" my perspective as you put it.

Ohhh well than the cop will still think you stole it, but instead of ditching it in a field to taking it to a chop shop.
