If everyone really wants to get a petition going then maybe we should work on that.

Oh yay another online petition!

-_-

Heh, you guys... what are you going to tell the other 95% of the population that thinks that going over 65mph will make the car explode and flip 400 times?

You have to convince them that you modifying your car to go extremely fast and pollute a lot more, is your right... and that you should be given the responsibility of not flying down the street at 150mph and slamming into their family vans... thats just if you want even enough signatures for the governator to look at and get a good laugh at you... since you'll also need to come up with some poltical (read: corporate) interests to help back it.

Fact is, if you want to have a race car and not get hassled by the cops... build yourself a an f'ing race car... don't build up your daily driver.

I screw around with my daily driver because it's all I've got for now... but I know that I can't go telling the cops "Oh but this should be LEGAL!! WTFF"

There are some laws I don't agree with, because they make no sense whatsoever... like the no aftermarket muffler allowed. That's ******* bullshit.. now you can get it checked for dB level and approved... but still, it's a huge ******* hassle and aftermarket exhaust does NOT mean too loud and polluting. My stock exhaust is f'ing loud because it's a piece of crap and falling apart... an aftermarket would be quieter and better, but it's not allowed!? Yeah, that **** is stupid.

We all gave up the rights to driving a long time ago to the government... now it's a PRIVILEGE not a right... which is fucked and retarded, but GOOD LUCK changing it now... it's how things are now.

I'm wondering how fast cars will be generally phased out over the next years... gas prices, emissions restrictions, ricing laws.... pretty soon I think we'll all be back to pedal bikes... oh baby!

hey what about motorcycle gangs, there's a plenty where I live......they go 70 mi/h on regular streets....they don't get harassed as much as we do...plus they are F*#$% loud when they pass by at 1 or 2 am

this is at least for the LA area, I don't know about other parts of Cali.

yet some of the hangouts of so called RICERS, were all over the news. And they showed SMURFS doing their job of arresting everybody. How pathetic! !!!!

I don't know if any of you hanged out at Diamond Bar with the folks from
msprotege.com. Everything was cool until cops chased us out from there.

Corporate help with the petition might not be as hard as you all think. You have to remember that the more they tighten down on the car laws the more business these companies stand to lose. I think they'll come on board if enough everyday people are on board already. Looks like it's time to get started.

man... I would forget how to reload those things.......maybe they don't sell bullets for those guns anymore on the market. Then we wouldn't have any problems.

Yea, they don't sell bullets anymore. Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Stick to Counter Strike or Halo.

modifying your car does not necessarily mean your more polluting. leaving the catalytic converter and all emission related components should not increase the pollutants significantly. there are plenty of carb legal modifications that people can do to their cars. also, just because you modify your car doesnt mean you have to go fast on the street. stock cars are built to satisfy the broadest range of consumers as possible in order to sell more. all we are doing is taking away what we dont need and emphasizing the characteristics that we appreciate.

and driving should be a privilege but people consider it their birthright. that is why we have so many accidents and stupid drivers out there. they dont take their driving seriously. to them it is just a nuisance that they have to deal with everyday. my favorite example is this one guy at the freeway that i passed a few years ago. i noticed he was driving erratically and i looked over as i passed him. he was holding the steering wheel with his knees while holding a newspaper with one hand and a coffee cup with the other. just having a cellphone in your hand could land you in jail in some countries.

besides, we did not give up our right to the government. that's what the uber rich yuppies want you to believe. we are the government. the problem is that people complain too much they fail to realize the true power of the people. we vote, we choose what the government officials can and cannot do.

sorry for the long post... but we need to take this matter seriuosly. i myself am not familiar about getting a petition going, but if somebody does, please let us know what to do. if we all get together and work as the group we are, even if we dont change the outcome, we bring our case in the public and hopefully change the future.

Sad, but very true. I've been pulled over a lot of times for what is classified "Wreckless driving"(Multiple States), but have yet to be arrested. And my FD is a Rollcage away from being a true race car.

Lots of questions, not many answers here. Also, too much hot air.

Here's a USEFUL question: will a Sterling modified Nikki pass smog? If so, it sounds like a winner since it passes the eyeball test.

I ordered a Sterling for my 85GSL with stock 12A and clean smog stuff to test the theory. We shall see.

more useful question: what's a Nikki pass smog? And who's this Sterling guy?
