Projectors, bulbs, ballasts, backing shrouds, and labor to assemble them

So it's all equally expensive?

I was just wondering if anyone needs these in the future that a group buy could be rolled in with the FD units, seeing as those guys spend a lot more money on this sort of thing.

I'm not sure I understand the question? What's the most expensive part? I guess the projectors themselves would be, but all of the components are pricey and none will work without the other parts .

As far as doing another run of lights is concerned, yes it's a possibility, but for FC owners I think the cost is really the deterring factor for most people (despite if they are available or not). And it's not the sort of thing that we want to stock as it will cost us a lot of money up front, and they won't be flyin off the shelves. I think unless we find a way to do it way cheaper (using cheaper parts) these headlights won't be attractive enough to FC owners, and with cheaper components the quality wont be nearly as good.

Anyway, for now, the people in the current GB can be happy to know that they are getting the best of the best for their car, for a kit that may never be made again!

I'm glad that this group buy lagged, because it looks like there might not be any other opportunities to get these Hid's. I can't wait to have these installed

I was just thinking... Molds are produced for the housing and lenses are a common item.

Can a future production of these FC lights be made with a future production of FD units? FD units are probably more likely for future production since they tend to spend more money than FC owners.

Projectors are the same...
But I know the lenses are different.

Is the labor about the same as the FD units?
What about the material necessary to produce the rear of the housing?

I'm just really nervous about that last bit... "They may never be produced again."

It scares me to have a one-off.

Well molds are just for the rear cap of the housing (dust and moisture). Yes they "can" be produced again. If you have something fail, by all means we can make a replacement so don't worry about that. What I'm not sure is if we will bother running another GB on these lights as the turnout was so low.

BTW the lenses in the projector (the round part) are the same as the FD. The only thing different than the FD is the housing and glass lens from the housing to fit the FC.

The FD GB is nearing being wrapped up, which means parts will be on the way shortly guys. Thanks for your patience! -Heath

I meant if I wanted another complete set in the future.

EDIT: Wait a sec, this IS being run in tandem with an FD group buy...

35 from the FDs, 15 from the FCs... That's 50 projectors, probably the quantity necessary to get a price break from the vendor of the projector housings...

49 and 1... Hmmm. That'd be a weird group buy.

Well, see how you like the lights first (though after you have them in the car you probably will want 10 more sets). You really gotta see them in person to understand why they cost what they do. Either FC owners don't get that or they are just too much money for headlights for them.

Parts are ordered, and should be arriving w/in the next few weeks. Shouldnt be too long after that to have em all built. We'll be doing these before the FD lights since you guys were waiting longer.
