I have just paid in lieu of fonzi581. You should receive a payment from my account with an identical message.

Just wondering at what point this GB could potentially expire or what the "breaking point" is? I guess, whats the least amount of members with full deposits Sakebomb and FDnewbie are comfortable with until this GB gets the axe?

If that makes sense.

It kinda sucks, because if one ever gets damaged by road debris, a wreck, an angry ex, or some other catastrophe, then there will NEVER be a replacement.

But I understand where they're coming from... It sucks trying to get top quality merch for an 80's shitbox.
And because it's an 80's shitbox, most of the owners are not willing to pay the price for top quality merch anyhow.

This GB is happening no matter what and the price isn't going to change. I'm excited about making this happen for FC owners... just a little bummed that we have had so many people drop out. As a result we are trying to place the order for parts along with the latest FD group buy, so we can meet the minimum number. The only downside is a slightly longer wait for parts, but that is better than messing with the price.

As far as replacements... the projectors themselves are extremely durable... and if the flat glass headlight lens ever gets chipped or breaks, replacement glass will be readily available. All other parts (bulbs/ballasts) are replaceable should they ever die. That said, this setup should last the life of the car (barring any mad girlfriends with baseball bats)

I'm willing to wait if it will help you out. I hack together a lot of homebrew on my 80's shitbox, but every now and then I like to get something quality. Eventually it might not be such a shitbox.

It's not commonly considered an "exotic" car, nor was it a limited production vehicle... I'd consider it a shitbox...

Don't take it personally. I got it from a lounge post.
Think of it how anyone who's NOT in the community will look at it.

I love looking at the FD #2 GB and see how many people get their deposit in like ASAP.

Sorry it takes us FC owners some relative time, Most of us prolly spend to much money on other illicit items versus saving money for our cars lol. Or we just don't have such great jobs in which case it takes a while to save $820.

I have to incur the cost of financing my first home, lord thank you that i had the money for this before that whole process started.

Not speaking on everyone, just in general i guess.

It's cool... I know FD guys tend to save/spend a lot of their money on their car (I do at least) but that does eat into other activities. I bought some new brakes recently... haven't eaten out, bought new clothes, or done much of anything recently trying to offset the big purchase. It may not be that the FD guys have more money per-se... maybe just funnel more of it into the car.

I'll be sending everyone on the list who hasn't yet responded/paid/downpayment etc and see if I can get a response or commitment from them, but like I said before since the numbers came in low on the FC lights, we're pairing it with the FD parts purchase so the FC lights wont start getting built till the FD GB closes.

$799 + 20 shipping in the US. Please see the first post in this thread as it has lots more information about the lights as well as the price. This will probably be the first and last GB we will be running on them as the turnout was quite minimal.

In the FD thread, there is a link to installation instructions for the lights. Will you be making instructions specific to the FC or will it be the same process with differently shaped plastic?

Thanks
Andy

Everything will be identical except removing the plastic. The aiming procedure is the same as well and mounting the FC headlights is a piece of cake compared to the FD. All you need is a good ground bolt for each light and a place to mount the ballasts. We recommend 3m heavy duty exterior mounting tape be used for the ballasts. You can also zip tie or hard mount them if desired.
