I've seen the light output on the HID KS kit and it is not good. Not a projector lens, no cutoff and they splash light all over the place. It doesn't surprise me they'd want another solution. FYI - there are very good options for projectors that are waterproof and rock proof without using the stock headlight cover for protection. They're not cheap and I think $1,000 is a good estimate of what a high quality DIY kit would cost for all new components (you could do this with used OEM projectors and a retrofit HID system for less) and $1,500 wouldn't be unreasonable for retail. I'd pay that now if someone had a proper kit.

Looks like I will forge out on my own with the dual pop up HID idea
Could we take the KS headlight discussion to another thread homie? For what it's worth, the Knight sports headlight kit has been discontinued. As far as paying $1500 for a headlight kit....I think you'll be one of the only customers *Baller*. In order to properly construct a sleepy eye bi-xenon HID kit, we would have to find a smaller housing that would fit in the headlight assembly and allow a proper projector be fitted. With the invention of bi-xenon projectors there is simply no need to use two separate headlights.

On a Side note, aoc007 was talking about S2k projectors. The S2k projectors are NOT bi-xenon which would leave you with only a low beam.

Will do Dan. Thought if I was annoying enough you guys would whip up a set for me Not interested in the KS solution but did want to know the size of the lights they used for my research. Looks like they stuffed two 90mm units in there but I wanted to confirm this.

As for the S2000 discussion, I'm not interested in a bi-xenon solution. For me, I want to improve functionality AND FORM so one round light in the current pop up height doesn't do it for me. I want to make the lights more sleek and modern and I have in mind what that means to me. I've decided to do this and have taken the first steps already.

For those though that want the current pop up height and much, much improved lighting, your solution is by far the best out there so I am not surprised you have the numbers signing up. And Dan is right putting something together like he has for a GB is a major pain and his $750 price is pretty low given the amount of effort and time he has invested.

--> Ok guys, this GB is coming to a close in a matter of days, but we have less than 1/2 of the payments in. The longer it takes to get all the payments in the longer it will take for us to be able to order parts, and the longer everyone will wait for their lights.
-The time frame for getting payments in doesnt matter as much to us as I know it does to the other people in the GB who have already paid and are just waiting . We want to make sure this GB moves along at a productive pace so you guys arent waiting and we are not simply sitting on your money.... so I'm sending out PM's tonight to everyone who is on the list who we have not yet recieved payment from. Remember we cant order parts until everyone who wants to be in pays, so we're all in this boat together LOL

**NOTE: Many people who have submitted payments forgot to add their forum name in the payment. Please make sure to do this to help us easily verify that you have paid. If you have any problems with payments please PM Scrub (Dan) and he'll straighten you out**

There has got to be a cutoff time for making payment - are you seriously going to wait a month for the flakes to decide whether they actually want to buy?

No. I mean the GB has not even officially closed yet... but my point for the post was to remind people that the list will be closing soon, and a polite nudge to get their payments in.

Ok, yeah I was thinking about using four projectors, but that might not fit in the popups. And I have since heard that the projectors being used are the best on the market.

Who did I call anything? In all group buys there are almost inevitably flakes, I have no idea who they are at this point but it will be obvious when they drop off the face of the earth when it comes time to pay. I think you should relax

Sounded like you called anyone who hasn't paid yet a flake. Perhaps that should be clarified since I had not yet paid (until about 30 secs ago), but I'm certainly not a flake.

so i want the bixenon for the fc. the website in europe given earlier does not have bixenon. there seems to be enough room in the fc headlight assy to retrofit the fd housings. anyone know if the fd housings are smaller then the stock fc sealed beams? i know the shape is diff but i bet it woudnt be that hard to fab a bracket. I think you should send me a set and i will investigate what is needed to make a retrofit kit for the fc.

Grr I couldn't get echeck to work. It's not even an available option for me somehow. I was trying to follow the tutorial and the paypal screens didn't even look the same. Ended up accidentally sending the money via regular paypal, so I sent the extra paypal fee separate. Man...anyhow i'm paid up I think.

So I have a semi-obvious question. The minimum you needed for the GB was 15. There are more than that and at least 15 have paid. Are you going to order the necessary gear for those who've paid and start on those or wait for all who've initially come in to pay, then order?

As I mentioned, it's not that big of an issue for me given the project I'm working on, but I thought others would like to know as well.

Thanks!

Everyone I've PM'ed I've either had everyone pay, or made commitments to pay ASAP, minus three people. I'll give them a couple more days but after that they get da boot if I dont hear back. Either way we have already started the parts ordering process, but ill give them a couple more days to contact me and get payments in.
