Looks incredible. If I were to build and FD, I would have a very difficult time not taking many designs/ideas from your build!

OK, so I'm having a difficult time visualizing how your headers fit in this space? Any pics of everything installed? It must be an incredibly tight fit!! Crazy build!!!

In the picture you quoted the primaries will exit the head and point toward the front of the car and upward. The pick is misleading but the downpipe is routed under the header.

Damn, that sucker is shoe-horned in there. I hope you never drop a nut while working on that engine bay.

Very nice build. It gives me that "i'm going to eat your children' feeling while looking at it.

I built everything so its very user friendly to me. Nothing was overlooked, trust me. I can access everything really well. Including all 8 spark plugs.

the pics dont do its justive on how much room and how carefully everything is configured. i could fit a 88mm on each side with 3" DP's on each side if i wanted to.

hehe. im going to have a direct air duct through the front bumper straight into the turbo. Ive been trying to come up with a ironic small saying that i will have made into a sticker. Of course it will be strategically placed it in that area. i cant wait! Im trying my hardest to have it on the dyno sometime in late december!

FINALLY an update!! i have the Precision 825hp FMIC mounted! I also installed a 224/224 .581/.581-114 cam as well. Its soo much more quiet even with 4" open downpipe compared to the TREX V2 cam. Soo im stoked on that too. All my charge piping, silicone, clamps, BOV, and some other remaining misc parts should be in next week. Goddamnit i havnt been this excited about the car in all of 9 years ive owned it. I gave her a little shine as well, enjoy.

My goal was to have the turbo setup completed by the end of this month, looks like it might actually happen. Then sometime in febuary, strap her down on the dyno!

SOOO.... U talked a bunch of **** saying ur car will smoke anything on the streets and its not even ready for the street yet?????

Looks like a good setup. Anxious to see what it does on the dyno. Did you weigh the car without the interior, front glass, and hood like it is in most pics? 2355 seems very light, especially with the added weight of the turbo and such. Curious how u got there? My car is full interior and weighed 2640 without PS, A/C, heater core, wipers, etc. So your considerably lighter.

maybe the streets arent ready for my car? lol just ****** with ya :P Soo the last time i weighed the car on 4 corner scales that my friends touring car team uses, and is accurate to the nearest pound.. It was 2260 on the head as youve seen it pictured basically missing the FMIC/BOV/charge piping, windshield, and maybe a misc 20lbs of whatever. (fuel/toilet paper) My FMIC is 16lbs, charge piping/bov 15lbs bein generous, a windshield is 40 at most, and for easy numbers sake with the misc, its gonna be 2350 without driver. With that being said, the car has extensive weight reduction and was weighed with a full "looking" interior with one kirkey seat. Soo theres the obvious weight savings, then theres the entire OEM chassis/engine wiring harness that i removed. I maybe used 8lbs of painless/jimmy wiring to make it all happen and function as a barely street legal race car if you will. Yah the OEM mazda harness is 86lbs on the head with relays and everything. With that being said, there is no heater core, AC, PS, wipers, or anything that sets aside this car from a 125cc shifter cart. I bought the lightest flywheel, 14lb buddy club baby girl battery, and it gets more technical. Stock, as a 93 touring it weighs in at 2675 with the Bose system and all the fancy stuff i dont need. Also, that 2260lb weight was on heavy 12" wide 3 piece wheels and a full exhaust. In race trim slicked and skinnied with no exhuast, should be a solid 40-50lbs less. Soo with that theory im hoping to be 2300 in race trim without driver. Which is REEETARDED considering im looking to max the limits of a stock internal Ls1 at a healthy 650ish just to make the number. Otherwise, driving it around here and there it will remain on the first stage of boost on the WG sprnig of 8psi which hopefully yields somewhere in the mid/upper 500s range.
There will be dyno vids, and pics of my car on numerous scales just to back up my words. There was a guy on Rx7club with a dope *** blue FD, weight reduction nearly to my specs, slicked/skinnied, no exhaust, one seat, single turbo rotary, you get the idea. he was sub 2400lb car, but he had the entire chassis/engine wiring and heater core i believe. Sooo its not impossible, its all the matter of what you are willing to sacrifice for the love of speed.

Yeah, his user name is Viking War Hammer now. His car is the only other "street" car i have seen get that light. I believe he actually weighed 22xx, which is just nuts. The car should be a real handful on the streets. With proper gearing, this thing should a 140+ mph car in the quarter.

I might have missed it, but what rear end/gear are u running?

yuup, his car was like 2275 or 2350lbs, i forgot the exact number, but i never doubted his claims. Needless to say he inspired me, plus im a crazy ******* who's hayabusa has no rear brake and only one front brake rotor/caliper just to drop weight off the bike. When it comes to going fast, i spare no expenses when it comes to weight reduction.

Soo i have the 3.90 gears in the rear end, and on a stock T56 ls1 6 speed trans on a 28" tall slick i have everything calculated per gear to the exact MPH. I have my rev limiter set @ 7200 rpm, and in 4th gear on a 28" tall tire @ 7200rpm the car will be at 151mph and thats not accounting for tire growth on the big end. Soo assuming i have the power, i know the car is good gearing wise for low low 9s in the quarter mile based off the fact 4th gear at redline will be @ 151mph. I will be happy with that!

I think "Supercar" is certainly an adequate term to describe this FD's road and track-worthy power displacement.

Sounds like you're gonna need some bigger tires though, friend. lol
