Soon! I might have a startup video within two weeks.
The steering isnt an issue, too many people whine about nothing and blow it out of proportion.
the money it costs for a SC 6L Vs me building what i am doesnt justify the power goals for the money. Plus i dont like blowers, plus a turbo setup is always more efficient. With a built 408ci i can push 1000whp fairly easily. For now on the stock block, im going to limit it to 600-650whp.

Sweet build.
I have a few questions.
Is that an ls1? If so, why call it 6 ltr?
Why go F/I and limit your power?
Just wondering how you're thinking.
Also, efficiency depends on the entire turbo/s.c. setup so you really can't make an umbrella statement about either one.

I dont know how F/I limits my power other than by the stock block. IN which safe HP levels will need to remain around 600whp. With the 408 engine i plan to build, i can push over 1000whp, which is my main goal over time, AND my turbo supports 1250hp, soo im not sure what you mean by limiting my power with F/I, LOL.
Yes i can make these statements and stand behind them 100%, this isnt my first rodeo.

thanks, i will eventually use a 6L iron block with a 4" crank in order to extract the full potential of my turbo, currently yes, it is a 5.7L ls1. Sorry if it was confusing somewhere along the lines.

I still believe that there are situations where a s/c is more suited and would be more efficient but a turbo is definitely the way to go for most average joes.

S/C is not more efficient in ANY instance over a turbo, bottom line, im not sure where you're getting your "info" from.

600hp as stated above is the reliable HP range for the stock internals short block. Honestly, my car on 450rwhp NA was damn rediculous, i want to break 200mph legitamately at the texas mile. So im doing this turbo build.

I am trying to see the point in going turbo when you could reach very close to your goal of 600hp N/A. Forced induction is cool but I don't see the point when you're only wanting 600 hp.

fabbed the crossovers, waiting on my tial 60mm WG to come in.
I moved the radiator over all the way soo i can duct cool air through a hole in the front bumper straight into the turbo.

Heres some updated pics. The revised cooling system is completed, the coils have been relocated and as i type this i am building the 4" downpipe!!

Are you guys dense? The reason he's going turbo is because he wants to do 200+ MPH. that I don't think you can do with 600HP H/A and ANYTHING N/A will make more power with FI.
Any idea how much boost you plan to run to achieve 1250 rwhp? What turbo, ecu and coils are you using?

thanks! she fired up on the first try!!! I got all emotional and teary eyed... :p haha
per stock internals im looking to hit 650ish. The efficiency of the setup determines how much boost. 650whp could be 10psi or 16psi. I have a 98 PCM so im limited to 14.7psi on a 2 bar map sensor. which is fine, given i cant push higher numbers due to the stock internals. When the time comes, i will repin in a 99 PCM, 3 bar MAP, 6.0 forged iron block, send the PT88 to get upgraded to a 91.5mm/t4 and push for the 1000whp mark. Im using coils from my 02 5.3 vortec swap thats going into my ranger. the square truck coils yield the highest voltage, even over MSD's.
hey mark, im going to be running tilton floor mounting pedals, soo a vac pump is outa the question. I thought about going E85, but im just gonna buy a 55 gal drum of 116 and call it a day. The car will have a meth kit, soo that will make up for the additional cooling properties the E85 provides.
I will put the car on the corner scales shortly and see what shes weighing in at. It will be under 2400lbs no quesrtions asked. Considering last i scaled, it was 2270 missing a few odds n ends on heavy *** 3 piece wheels and a full exhuast!
