Angry 1/8 mile time

I made it out to the track for my first time i didnt do as good as i expected b/c my car was messing up. Everytime i shifted into second real hard my car would like shut off and come back on and that hurt me a lot. What do you think could do that? Fuel pump, or not enough gas b/c i ran with less than a quarter tank. Well either way this is the time i got. I also decided to take my g tech pro out there with me and that this is almost dead on, its just a little bit of b/c i didnt have it doing the r/t, so i am pretty confident that if i figure out what is wrong with my car i could run a 8.9 or so.

R/T .565
60 2.117
330 6.133
1/8 9.326
mph 76.92

What are your mods? That is pretty quick for a n/a. My best in the 1/8th was a 9.8x with a cat replacement pipe and racing beat mufflers.

Does it only seem to lose power during the 1st to 2nd shift or does it happen during all shifts?

Well the first launch it did it in 1st and into 2nd, but after that i launched softer but it it still did it into 2nd. If i can fix my problem i know i could get an 9 or 8.9. I have a large sp, electric fan, lightweight flyweheel, act six puck clutch and pp, TII tranny, 4.88 rearend, 550cc injectors, no ac, no p/c no emmisions, racingbeat header to 3 in. all the way back.

There is a rotary performance shop near me and the guy knew someone that had one laying around and only had a couple hundred miles put on it with a motor with less stuff then mine. So i picked it up for about $1400. It wasnt cheap but definately made a diff.

gearing will always help in a short race like that.
