CA 90 GTU RX7: Rebuilt engine, intermittent surge idle in cold/warm climate.

Greetings to all, finally happy to have a running RX7 again, and able to be more active on the forum.

I have a rebuilt stock N/A 13B engine, NO aftermarket mods, and have been putting miles on it to break in the rebuild. I've noticed that when i drive my FC from San Francisco (cold) to areas such as Sacramento and San Jose area, my idle doesn't surge (1200-1500 RPM).

I've consulted all the break in procedures on forums and RX7 sites via Google. I saw in Rotary Resurrection (I think), that adjusting my TPS until before a complete break-in wasn't worth it as the idle would constantly change.

It's been consistent in that when I drive to the SF South Bay, the surging idle goes away. if first noticed it when I drove to Sacramento from San Francisco. Whenever I return to SF, the surging idle comes back. I have messed with the TPS many times, and even had it set per FSM instructions so many times.

When in warmer climate, my idle goes to regular 600-900 or, at 1100. Again, in colder climate, specifically when near the Ocean, like Pacific and San Francisco, my idle surges.

Should I wait till after it's broken in at 2000 miles? I've got 1000 miles so far.

I've done everything according to the forum in looking for a leak and even replaced hoses. Except for doing a compression check. That's next on my list after an oil change.

Go ahead and set the TPS for it takes but a minute to do and it won't hurt the car. The Green/Red wire should read 1 volt w/key to on after the car has been completely warmed up (20 minute drive).
