Dont get me wrong, 800rwhp+ is huge and I love to see fellow rotary's doing big numbers. Not knocking that part.... But my post still stands correct. If he could carry the power longer (8500-9500) it would be a hell of fast car but by looking at the graph he is making such low numbers up to 6500rpm and then it comes on VERY hard to 7500. So he really has 1k rpm's worth of good power.

= dyno queen.....

My FD made 303whp at 12 psi yesterday at Rotary Performance (TX). Stock internals/turbos/injectors. PFC, SMIC, upgraded fuel pump, Hi-flow cat plus all the regular bolt-ons. Weather was very nice and a big factor according to Chris at RP. I pickup the car this afternoon. Have dyno sheet, no scanner.

that sheet is calculated engine power, not wheel power.
He's out of injector thats why he's stopping at 7000rpm.

First run is on low boost (1Bar) and it started to rich missfire so had to pull out.
Second run was high boost (1.5bar) but still really rich..
Third run was the same and only managed 580hp.

Problem was boost control and a few issues with the map sensor.

thanks. i cant wait to bring it to a track (road course) and see what kind of lap times i can put down and how responsive it's set up. it should be a major threat as it is with this power level and its' low weight (2702 pounds) to some cars with more power.

Wow, again great overall #s from a Dave/KDR tuned car. Your 13 psi torque curve looks really weird between 4-5k rpm, especially as compared to the 11 psi curve. Car must feel like a rollercoaster How come lower revs aren't shown (start at 2.5-3k)? It looks like the dyno operator just floored it at four grand, based on that really steep torque increase at the start of the rpm range shown on the graph. Do you happen to have better plots of boost and AFR (not from a tailpipe sniffer, but from a downpipe/pre-cat mounted wideband O2)? TIA

i was wondering why it started later in the rpms myself, and i called Dave and he said that that is where he started the run. i am making all the way up through, but thats where he clicked the run on. as for the difference in runs, we had been running the car continuously on the dyno, and it was getting hotter. I think he just skipped through 1st 2nd and 3rd, where you can see the decrease then swift increase, to get to 4th and 5th gear runs. that was the last run of the day.

thats all ive got, unfortunately. i have a AEM UEGO AFR gauge that is spot on with the numbers we were getting from the exhaust sniffer. it is welded in at the end of the downpipe. my car was tuned a a conservative 11.8:1 AFR.

I have been tuning my car for a while (Thanks to Chuck), this is the first other persons car I've tuned. His forum name on here is "crash x 4". He also lives right next door to me so figured he could be the first guinea pig. Mod list from what I can remember.

- 94 R2
-stock twins, stock port 100K+ miles no rebuild
-DP,Resonated MP,Racing Beat Muffler
-Supra Pump
-Pettit coolcharge III SMIC
-K&N Intake with hard pipes
-Apexi Power FC, AVCR
-Pettit BOV
-Koyo N-Flow (held great temps on the dyno, 90+ deg F out side kept the car at 175-180 even during the runs.)
-A bunch of other stuff that doesn't have to do with power.

First run AVCR set to .9 bar (sever boost leak coming from multiple places) stock map
HP 294 TQ 265
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...manuelrun1.jpg

Second run AVCR set to .9 bar (Pettit BOV found to leaking replaced with stock one, but still some leaking occurring from some where else)
HP 307 TQ 256
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...manuelrun2.jpg

Third run AVCR set to .9 bar (Boost is unable to hold steady near the end keeps dropping to low .8)
HP 318 TQ 269
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...manuelrun3.jpg

Once we get everything fixed we will be back with more numbers.

On a Dynojet tuned at Balanced Performance in Sugar Hill GA.

Stage 3 port from RX7Store
Apexi Intercooler
550/1600 injectors
Apexi GT exhaust
GR 63 turbo (non-bb)
Magnaflow Cat

It was tuned so I could pass GA emissions, which it does with fling colors. Soon will place a straight pipe in and retune.

not bad for 13psi. If it were me I would add some fuel to it. To lean for my taste... But then again its got 100k+ so its only a matter of time...

Where did you get this tuned at? That's a low HP considering you have a T04R on 18PSI.

399.86RWHP@14.5psi + 100% water injection

Very conservative igl and igt, because pump gas is about 88oct here in the Dominican Republic.

considering what I have i think it's pretty damn good. I don't have the supoorting mods to push any more. no larger injectors(im running stock injectors), no water/meth injection. And plus, 377 is more than enough hp to run a road coarse race. more is definately not better in that case cuz any motor with real high hp numbers become unreliable for long sustained runs(meaning WOT, being pushed hard for 30+ min straight). Unless you dump a shitload of money into they R&D of your engine where money is no object, then ya it can become reliable. I'm not planning on drag racing this car. there is no way in hell i can drag race a car after drag racing bikes.

I never said 377 is not enough. All I said was that was low considering your turbo and your boost pressure. I never noticed you are running stock injectors AND no A/I. That's really pushing the limits there.

OR 289 rwhp, 231 lbft

10 psi boost stock sequential

Power curve derived from datalog, calm day, flat road, 3rd gear pull. Don't know how accurate it is, but should be close. It certainly feels that fast.

Mods:
Pineapple rebuilt motor w. mild street port, downpipe, Y-pipe, Bonez high flow cat, RB dual tip catback, Aeromotive FPR running stock pressure, PFC, PFC Datalogit, 1300cc secondaries, own tune map, Innovate WB O2 Sensor (hooked up to datalogit box), Defi boost gauge, Koyo aluminium radiator, K&N panel filter in stock airbox, Supra fuel pump

To Do:
Replace turbos (my secondary has died)
Greddy SMIC
Cheap bastard airbox mod
Retune, up boost!

Working through learning how to tune using the datalogit & Chuck's notes. Had got an OK base tune before doing more work when the secondary decided to take a dump; a set of used JDM turbo's should arrive tomorrow (whoo-hoo!). Need to get them changed over, make sure everything looks OK, then start on the SMIC install & airbox mod.
My target right now is a nice driveable 350 rwhp, I think I should be able to hit that.

My recent dyno @ KDR.

Mods:
New Malloy motor with 1500 miles
M2 intake
Unorthodox pulley kit & A/C delete
M2 Large IC
PFC
HKS ign. amp
DP
Bonez Hi flow cat
Trust 3" Titanium exhaust
9.5 lb flywheel
99' turbos(sequential)

Boost hit 14psi, but at what rpm and for how long, as I was not watching the gauge. The graph is wavy towards the top. I'm controlling boost through the PFC and the Apexi boost control solenoid. I dont know whether or not to call that creep or oscillation, nor do I know if its from the PFC. My old motor and similar mods with an XS manual boost controller never showed those wavy lines up top. I'm happy with the numbers given the type of driving I do. Just wish it was so damn hot and humid that day. The sheet isnt too accurate in regards to conditions as it was actually in the high 80s but the humidity was high as well.

Here's a vid of the 330HP/305TQ run:

Not bad for stock ports Don, if you had a nice streetport on it you could have made 350ish rwhp.

Thanks Rich, somewhere down the road if I ever go single, I'll have you work up one of your special streetports Comparing the Bonez cat to Gotham Racing(recently fell apart internally wise) one I ran for 5 years, the Bonez is a bit bigger and perhaps a bit more restrictive. Maybe and hopefully its more durable in the long run, but I might have hit 350 with just a midpipe as well.

I will upload the dyno plot in the morning....On my new built motor with a Garrett 500r...

452 RWHP/365 RWTQ @ 17psi w/ ignition breakup (leading coil), built and tuned by Dave @ KDR. I'm grabbing a new coil and going back next weekend to do 500+. Should be fun to hear that turbo scream at 20+ psi!
