Thanks man! I have owned a 3rd gen RX7 since 1997. I had to sell my first one in my divorce about 4 years ago and bought this silver one about 2 years ago.. I rebuilt it, but during the rebuild I found the 300Z for next to nothing and always have loved them. Have had the Lotus since 2004. Fully built engine and big T04E turbo, The Z just underwent major surgery. Stage 3 engine, heads, and Garrett BB turbos. Thanks Brother! My FD is my baby!

Thanks man! If the FD has a notoriety for being unreliable......Buy an Esprit! The FD will look like a ford Escape in reliability! But when running correctly, it is a fun and sexy car that EVERYONE LOVES, thumbs up everywhere and ***** flashed more than a trucker on I95! By the way, the wheel fitment on the Esprit is Work Meister 3 piece 18X10 rear with a +17 offset and 18X9.5 front with a +15 offset

They look like Veilside lowrise ones to me. Very rare JDM righteousness.

That Lotus is properly nice, even if it's a later one with Peter Stevens' and Thompson's meddling.... although if Giugiaro himself said he liked it, who are we to question, lol? Looks well hard in black

Nik, the influence of Thompson wasn't until the 1996 V8 model year updates, if I remember correctly. I like the softened lines of the Stevens cars personally!

You're quite right, my bad! I like them too. Like I said, it's hard to argue when someone like Giugiaro complements a re-style of his original design. Not to mention the guy did style the McLaren F1 amongst others, and if that doesn't get you moist you must be already dead hahaha. I was at the Classic Motor Show in Birmingham (England) last week and spent quite a while on the Lotus OC stand wavering over which was bestm but in the end decided I'd be happy with any of them lol. Fairly jealous of yours, to be honest.

Mind you, just for balance and since we're already way off-topic, the original still has a certain something. I reckon this guy paid a fair bit for his license plate, too

And since this is a wheel fitment thread, this one's been getting some attention over here this year:

Oh YES SIR! The original G body design is CLASSIC SEXY! I have almost purchased one on several occasions, but the work to bring it up to standard would have been astronomical! If you like them, there is a forum called "The Lotus Forums" with lot's of British Esprits. I have been on it for years and lot's of great "Blokes" on there. I would love to have mine a bit lower, but it's just impractical in the rear as the inner fender is not much taller than the wheel arch and the tires rub on every small bump. Air bags would be nice for stance to show, but to drive, it has to sit up much higher to get a decent ride quality!

uggh I need a mid-engine V8 in my life, it's a twin-turbo rev-happy v8 if I remember correctly?

Josh,
The 1996 on variant had a 3.5L twin T-28 turbo that detuned to produce 350hp/295lb ft. It was detuned to prevent the gearbox from shattering over its 300lbft capacity! Mine has a 2.2L T04E that produced 351whp and 317lbft at 21psi. Not as sexy as the V8 but sounds pretty awesome for a 4 cyl!

i tried some Advan RS wheels from a friend off mine.
Just curious how it looked. But in a few days there mine

Car and wheels are pretty dirty but you get the idea

9,5 J and ET35 around. Fronts needs a stretcht tire. On the back maybe a spacer off a few mm's.
And the front has to go down.

Replaced my Meisters with a lighter wheel as I plan on doing more track events. Ride height and alignment still needs to be done. I rolled the fenders as much as I could before seeing the left rear quarter panel start to concave in. Luckily I stopped in time.

Me too... I prefer it over your old Work Meisters. Looks like NT03's with RS-3's, how about some specs?

What size are your front tyres? I've seen cars with 18x9.5 +38 and 18x10 +38 front wheels with not stretched tyres. You might need to add a little negative camber.

Shine Auto makes them. It's a replica of something else I don't recall what it is at the moment.

I think the sideskirts are Kazama? As in this pic I took of Lee Mills' wide-bodied Kazama car?

The non-widebody have a less dramatic "box" on them
