Apparently it has also to do with grip. I'm curious to learn how a rating higher than 300 would affect the car though... I'll look some stuff up.

10.5 +15 up front with a 235/40 or 245/40 tire? how would that be on stock fenders with a good roll and pull to it...something like what was done on page 54 by fdmuri with the blue wheels

UTQG stands for Uniform Tire Quality Grading.

treadwear rating = the lower the ratings the softer the tire.

Treadware has no effect on the size of the tire.

Treadwear rating is one part of UTQG. While lower *generally* implies shorter life and softer compound, it is possible to have tires that wear quickly and have not grip, and tires that wear decently long and have decent grip.

There's also a traction rating and a temperature rating.
The traction rating (AA, A, B, C) is based on sliding coefficent of friction on a wet surface.
Read more here: Tire Tech Information - Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG) Standards

I put more stock in the tire rack's wet track test results than the traction rating, but outside of any other info, an AA or A rating at least implies decent wet traction.

I know this is a Post your FD wheel fitment thread, but I'm new to the FD world, and I've been reading up and researching fitments, but I'm trying to get an idea of how my set of wheels I have for my S14 240sx would look on an FD.

I'm sourcing a decent FD in the meantime, but wanted to pick your brains on this setup:
18x10.5 +1mm Front
19x12.0 -5mm Rear

I don't want an "absurd" amount of negative camber, but the car will be pretty low. That said, I have my eye on the FEED front and rear fenders. Will this setup work?

If not, I may just go with a 18x10 +15ish all around setup.

BTW, the wheels I have:

18/19 stagger might be weird on feed fenders. Only car i can think of that successfully pulled of 18/19 was bn blister. Pretty sure you can fit those sizes though.

18x9.5 +22 f/r with a +8mm spacer rear. 23.5in ride height. 235/40 federals.

$3k. They're brand new. You'd save a little over a thousand dollars.

But for real, what do you think about the fitment?

Is that shipped?

Fitment wise you will need quite the work/over fenders with those.
Here is my setup 10+24 front and 11-8 rear, rear has 255/35 and i have -2 negative all around, as you can see they stick out still with that flare i have (but thats the look i wanted)

*edit* and my front fenders are pulled as well.

I'd go halfway with you on shipping. I am probably going to give up on this setup and go for a more conservative 18x10 +15ish setup all the way around with Advan RGII's or if I can find a set, some 18x10 +18 Desmond Regamaster EVO's.

Let me know if you would want these wheels. I've owned them for about 5 years and they just collect dust. I have a for sale ad here in the wheels/tire section.

For you guys pulling your front fenders, is there some technique you guys are using the keep them from flexing?

Mine keep moving near the bolt down point near the side skirts and door, so instead of pulling, the fenders move and I can't get good pressure against them, and eventually my fender roller bottoms out.

I only rolled my front fender lips under so I cannot tell you from direct experience, but

1) If the force is flexing the fender outward you could put a dolly on the outside of the fender where you want the bend to happen and move it with the fender roller. It would be easy to mess this up if you are not experienced in old time sheetmetal work.

2) Put wheel spacers between the hub and roller so you can exert force even with the sheetmetal flexing away. This could also have unforseen results such as creasing and dimpling FD front fenders don't roll/pull easily.

3) Take the fenders off the car and do what you will with it using old time sheetmetal tools. These are not paint friendly and require experience to use.
