17x8 +35 front
17x9 +22 rear

will these fit? im pretty sure the fronts will, especially with my 20mm widefenders so i can space em if need be...so im more concerned about those rears...will those need spacers to fit?

 

I got some 17x7.5 +30 up front, with some 235's on them. They are rubbing the coilovers just a little and not sure how much of a spacer to buy. They are already pretty flush and if I add to much they will be beyond the fender. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

I'd say for the fronts you will need some spacers so they don't look really sunken in with those fenders. might rub depending on tire size.


rears, def. won't need a spacer. they should be good on the inside. what size tire you planning on running? probably will need to roll the fender a little. 17x9 +17 with a 235/40 needs a slight pull on the fender to not rub.

 

Those should fit no problem.
225 / 45 / 17 is a more appropriate size versus stock.

Just repeating what Bigretardhead has already said...

I still think the 8.0", +35 is too tight up front, especially with stock type suspension.
You might need a thin spacer to get the correct clearance inside.
With the 20mm overfenders, it's really overkill up front.

The rears get mighty close to the fender lip.
Be prepared to at least roll them in the back.

That's funny,that's what I'm running and it works perfect with room to spare between the spring and tire on a stock spring type suspension and 225/40/17's.Running anything larger tire wise you will have problems without a spacer.Where do you come up with this info?Maybe 16 inch rims would be a problem with that offset because of the tire options?

 

well i ended up goin with the 17x7 +35 and 17x8 +35 figured since in NA it'll spin 8s better than 9s

Actually, 225 / 40 / 17 is the wrong size.
225 / 45 / 17 is a more appropriate size compared to the stock Turbo II 205 / 55 / 16 tire size.

I've seen a 17" x 8.0", +35 SSR GP-theta's on a Kouki FC turbo with 225 / 45 / 17 up front.
It didn't fit.
Granted, the car was running Ground Control coilovers, and this might be the problem for the fitment.

I also have a customer's Kouki FC turbo locally here.
He's running 17" x 8.0", +35 Work Rezaz Roars with 235 / 45 / 17 up front.
These don't fit either.
We had to run a 3mm spacer to get it to clear.
This car is also running Ground Control coilovers with Koni Sport yellows.

So, it might be that the GC coilover adjustable spring perch at the bottom is causing the fitment interference...?

17" x 8.0", +25 with 225 / 45 / 17 tires will comes close to the fender lip - I can almost guarantee you'd need to roll the fender lip up front.
17" x 9.0", +25 with 255 / 40 / 17 tires will get close to the fender lip in the rear, but I think it should still clear.
Dropping down a size to a 245 / 40 / 17 should clear everything back there.

These should clear everything nicely.
Run 225 / 45 / 17 up front with the 7.5".
Run 235 / 45 / 17 or even 245 / 40 / 17 in back on the 8.0".
This set-up should clear everything with no problem.

Actually that was a typo they are 225/45/17's that I am running.

 

what is the largest tire size i can fit on the stock 14" wheels on a '87 base model?

i dont know if you can stretch a 215 on a 9" but if you can ill be close. i have 18x9 with 225 and it rubs on hard corners. THATS WITH A 24 offset! you are out about a half inch and should require some fender rolling AT LEAST. rears should be no problem with 225 you can probably get away with 235 and 245 with some fender rolling.

whats the lowest offset you can go with 16's and stock fenders with 225/50/16 tires. thanks. i used to have a web site that did all the math 4 u but i just got a new computer build so i lost a lot of bookmarks

 

stock 16" are i think 40 offset.

Drag radials How about 26 x 10 X 15 AKA (275 50.) with 15x8 or 15x9 et 30-35,

8 inch rim is recomended by the seller.

 

10" wide slick is just too wide out back.
I don't usually run anything wider than a 9.0" wide if I need to.
26" x 9.0" x 15" is what we usually run, when we used to drag...

I'm sorry one more ?, is that a 255 50 15, if possible can you please recomend a specific manufacturer and and metric size. The English size dosen't seem to corespond exactly to the metric in this case as some seem to be talking about the section width and some seem to be talking about the tread width.
