anyone have any info
b/c i am thinking of buying rims from a guy i know with that set up and i don't want to get them if they don't fit

 

the front is koo, but the rear offset is kind of high. might need/require rolling.

 

Not sure if this has been asked already or not, but will 4th gen Supra 5 spokes w/ the staggered widths fit OK on a FC? Will I need to get spacers n **** like FD wheels, or will they eat fender?

AFIK the Supra wheels have a 50mm offset, so you'll need some big spacers. I know for the FD the centerbore is too small too, they need to be machined. Not worth it at that point IMHO.

I need to know why they won't fit? Rubbing? No clearance? Must have spacers?

 

They sit too deep into the well.
They will hit suspension components inside.
Spacers will make them fit, but they are not recommended cause we're talking about over 1 / 4" thick which makes them unsafe.

Well that is the effing suck. I wish someone would take all the pics from this thread and put them on a page w/ dimensions and fitment. I'll even host it.

 

I just picked up a set of 98 Cobra r 17x9's. The fronts will be a no go without fenders, but the rears will clear. I will even machine the back of the rim to give me a hair more offset so I can fit 275's with ease. With the rim bolted on there is a good 2inches of strut clearance b/w the rim and the strut in the front and back.

i just bought the rims and i wanted to make sure i did not waste my $ on something that won't fit

 

87 TII. 20mm front fernders 30mm rear's. gonna be running tein coilovers.

Want to run 9.5'' in the front and 10.5'' in the rear. I have really no idea on what offset would work, hopeing to get some insite. The wheels are gonna be work meister's.

I'm thinking should be somewhere around + 10-15 front and rear. maybe slightly less depending on how aggressive of fitment you want(tire stretching?), or a little higher for the rear if you want to run a huge tire.
I wouldn't go higher than +15 for the front though, or the wheel will be getting really close to the strut. stay closer to the 10-12 area if you want to run a bigger tire.

 

Thanks alot. I'm not sure on what size tire I am going to run, probly like 275/35(would that be stretching it?) for the front and 290-300/30-40 on the rear. If anyone has any tire size recomdations that would help.

 

Tire sizes are useless without wheel size. You cannot get 275/35/17's so you must be looking at 18's. Those tire will be taller than stock, so they will make it so that you cannot go as low, as they'll be closer to anything they can rub on.

I doubt that you can get 275's in the front with 20mm fenders. Under stock fenders 235's are pushing it. You'd have 20mm extra, and you want to a tire 40mm wider than that, so it's probably not going to work. I'd be more conservative and stick with something more like a 9" wide wheel with about a 20mm offset and some 245's or 255's. That way they should actually fit under the fenders.

Here's a good site for comparing fitments. Just put one as a known fitment, and the other as the widebody one, and then make sure it doesn't stick out beyond the extra width. http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/info_specs.jsp

 

So by the looks of it on the webiste, 295/30/18 on a 10.5 wheel with ET 20 will clear, and fill in the widebody pretty good. I have a question though, where it says "Package will stick out 60 mm (2.4'') farther" does that mean 2.4'' from the stock tire, or from the fender?

 

It means it'll stick out 60mm further (towards the fender) than the other tire and wheel combo that you're comparing it to. So with if what you're comparing it to is close to the fenders, and you'll be putting on some 30mm wider fenders, then you need to pick something narrower.

 

16x8 +20 front and rear

225/50's in the front and 245/50's in the rear? What would be the widest tire I could go with, or are these pushing it?

And, if I went with the same wheels and tires, but with a +10 offset, would I get fender rubbage?

The offset's too low, you'd be better off with something in a 30-35mm offset. Those will rub on the fenders.

 

Eh, ARD T2 from AutoRnD has FD wheels spaced all the way out so they fit flush with the fenders, and apparently they don't rub at all. I figured this setup is similar, and should fit the same, although he's got a lower aspect ratio than the tires I listed...

will old school corvette wheels fit? like from the 1986-1990? theses meshies look like my dream rims, the ssr ones (boostins5 had them).

You're running almost 1/2" further out than what Rishie is running.
8.0", +10?
That's almost a full inch further out.
You just don't have that much space to play with up front...
