Update on pricing. I just bought a couple from 1stvwparts.com and their price has went up to $64.76. However, after the fact I found that NAPA now stocks the same sensor for $45.99. Any NAPA can order them or you can get them online. Use VW part# 021-906-262-B or NAPA part # BSH 17014.

I use the TECHEDGE 1.5, with th Bosch L1H1 sensor , same sensor for about 4 yrs. works perfect many gallons of 110, 100 Low lead, and 93, and i premix , reads 10.4 at 20 psi, cruises at 14.5-15, idles at 12.6, so far so good, kinda wish it could read down into the 9s to help tunning sessions. just came across a new wideband , local manufacture, called Daytona Sensors, installed one on a stock FD, really like the read out in the bright sun, but it does use the VW sensor, and the owner only uses 93. You just cant beat the NTK sensor. Even at the added expense the durabilty will out weigh the cost time and time again.

I use expensive UEGO NTK Sensors and they last forever no matter what i run thru it.
Meth, C16, VP Import, etc... They pay for themselves in no time.

 

my AEM last like 20 races and 20 dynos... a lot less than the 6000 miles claimed by AEM...it still working fine but after 20-25 minutes of running the car... will the Bosch L1H1 or NTK replace the AEM bosh sensor??? are all the same wiring connections?

So then, since I'm in the market for new sensor/logger, recommend a unit for me. I want something that integrates O2, RPM, and EGT.

 

I also had the innovate and went through 2 sensors quickly with C16. I posted on the innovate forum asking about C16 and I read the same thing, 500 hours, that's such BS. If you are not running leaded fuel, you will be fine. Mine never went bad when running 93 octane.

I chose to go with the FJO unit. The new FJO unit DOES NOT control the L1H1 sensor. You have to get the older FJO units. The NTK L1H1 sensor will last a long time. I spoke to a large number of guys who run C16 often and their sensors are on 4 years and going strong. I called FJO and asked why they stopped making them and they explained it was the cost. They even stated the L1H1 sensor was "bulletproof" but is more expensive that others.

I searched all over the place and found a place that still sold the older FJO units. If you are interested, PM me for the details. THe unit I have integrates 02 and RPM but not sure on EGT but I believe there is a 5v input as well as output. I've also seen the FJO units in action on rotaries with no issues.
