R85 Noise

So I Have this ticking Noise that sounds like a Midget is in my engine bay hitting my turbo mainafold and downpipe with tiny hamers a thousand times per second. It has a metal pinging sound. I though it was the exhaust leak between the v-band and down pipe but i fixed that today and the noise is still there.

My question is do tublar mainafolds make that sound or am i still leaking somewhere else?

tubular manifolds make a little more "noise" compared to cast units ..

i have the r-85 and there is no ticking sound at all! the v band is not the greatest when it comes to sealing so i would check all around it and make sure its on good

Metal pinging is not good. It's either detonation or your turbo shaft has too much play and the blades are hitting the housing. I would pull the turbo and inspect it before driving on it again.

hey any of you guys notice the turbine housing to manifold gasket to be a little on the small end? mine is smaller than the manifold outline and the divided turbine housing. do i have a strange batch? i want to replace the gasket has anyone sourced or know of a proper fitting one?

also does anyone have a better filter than what was provided with the kit? something larger yet that will fit... thanks guys

its strange cause you have to order a flange for the manifold and you figure it would be paired with a proper gasktet. not saying its kg's fault i just wish i could find a good gasket before i try to make one...
