low boost

Now that My engine is broken-in I want to start turning the boost up. It seems I can only boost about 7 PSI. I replace dthe BOV with a syncronic, ( I love this thing) . I took of the waste gate to be sure the seat was OK.and it was

It is a aspec T3 35R REW with all supporting mods. The turbo spins freely and continues even after the engine is shut down. I even took off the waste gate vacuum hose and still only boosted 7PSI.

Do I just have a major boost leak? Or could it be something wrong with the turbo?

Johny

Oh. its in a FC and has no emissions, solenoids, check valves or anything else, The boost controller is an e-boost IT has always worked fine.

How quickly do you get 7 psi? With a gt35r t3 you should see that boost level by at least 3k. It sounds like you either have a large boost leak. Which testing with a boost pressure tester is the easiest and simplest method. Or your wastegate is not sealing.

You either have a boost leak, a pre turbo leak (would feel excessively laggy) or a 7psi spring. Have you checked your wg spring? Also I never made a T3 35R kit for the FC so..... just curious what you have.

He said even when disconnecting the line the to the wastegate it still didn't boost higher so its prob not the spring weight

^^ he has an REW swap.

i would be really surprised if you could keep boost that low (7psi) if everything were working right, considering how prone these cars are to boost creep.

I would be surprised if it was the turbo. Check your WG, pull it apart make sure it's all good in there.

I had this issue a long time ago on a customer car... turned out he had a clogged "high flow" cat in the exhaust. Took it out and all was well.
