External wastegate help

Hi guys i own a fc with 13b turbo in it and i am currently fitting a t66 or gt35r on to it but i want to know what size wastegate i should use. the guy i brought the turbo off is selling me a 50mm one but i want to know what is the difference if i used say a 40mm or 44mm?
What is best to run and can you please tell me what the differences are in using the different sizes please, thanks a lot

I've read that with lower boost levels you want to use a larger wastegate. Since there will be more exhaust flow through thr wastegate your less likely to see boost spike.

44mm or larger would be the way to go. Keep in mind just because it is a larger mm WG doesn't mean it will flow better. TiAL's 44m gate flows better than their 46mm gate. I would look at TiAL 44mm or the synchronic gates if possible.
