Injector Dynamic 1700cc's
So in the quest for all the HP's i've recently upgraded my ID 1000cc's to the new ID 1700's. I've had them running in the car for a few weeks and all but my most recent problem have been very impressed with all the aspects.
Yesterday i was on a just normal drive and was on the road for maybe and hour or so and literally a block from my house after idling at a light and then a short decel one of my injectors stuck closed. Of course after hours of diagnosing computer, ignition, compression and noid lights on all of the injectors. It was confirmed the front primary injector is stuck. I was lucky enough to still have my 1000's did a quick swap and the car runs perfect.
Question is with the new stainless internals on these injectors has anyone used them with a premix vehicle and had any problems? I run a normal mixture 1oz per gallon of fuel. Scary thing is my good friend has the other pair of 1700s and is also running these in his car as primaries, a few weeks ago his car was put down due to rotor not running after pulling his injectors and testing them then reinstalling the problem magically went away. I'm feeling like the likely chance of receiving 2 faulty injectors is slim but that has definitely been the case.
Any ideas?

What fuel filters are you running? Are they clean?
People laugh at me when I say I have a 3 Micron filter... I laugh when their **** breaks.
How the heck are you idling (assuming e85?) on 1700s? Which ECU are you running and are you sending 2A per injector? Could your values for the injector deadtimes be incorrect?
There's a LOT more to this than just swapping injectors...

Ugh, now i got something else to worry about. Awesome.
Also want to know if you're running E85 and what premix. I've read about the issues with the Klotz stuff...maybe it's gumming up the injectors?

So made a phone call to injector dynamics today, it turns out that they had a bad batch of injectors that went out a just about the same time that i purchased mine. The great news is that ryan at ID was very helpful with both letting me know our premix should not affect the injectors at all and as well that they will pay for shipping back to them and will ship me out a new set ASAP.
To answer a few of the questions
-Im running a aeromotive 10 micron filter that was just cleaned prior to installing the new injectors.
-Im just running pump gas with possible plans of E85 in the future. On that note though i've personally ran multiple piston engines and rotarys on ID2000's and while its not perfect it works for a weekend/ track day car. That's why i went with the 1700's i was looking for a tad better tunability on the low side.
-Im running a haltech ps1000 and have the racepak smartwire. The injectors have there own dedicated circuit.
- I'm using redline premix

Its only of concern with about 1% of the ID1700s in the field.
I emailed ID the other day about my ID1700s. Here is their response:
I'm pretty impressed.

We didn't issue a recall since we're only projecting about 2% of them to have a problem, plus, when they do fail they will either 100% work to 100% not working instantly, so there's not a lean condition, just a dead cylinder. In your application however, I believe you may have a lean condition if one of them were to fail.
Therefore, if you'd like to get an exchange going I can do that with the new versions that have been sorted. All I would need to do to get it going is your name and address, and I can send you over a return label. Once I get them I can send out the new ones as soon as I get them (I should have the next shipment in about a week to a week and a half).

I've been using four 1700s as secondaries since last fall. I've had issues with the car stalling but I believe that was due to getting tuned at sea level and I live at 6000'. Because after some remote tuning that went away. I don't believe I've ever had this issue but I'm going to watch for it now. Thanks for posting about this.

That is called logical customer service. A lost art in many markets. They recognize the possibility of catastrophic failure and take care of their customers. I will continue to buy only Injector Dynamics.
These are car guys and engineers, not some asshats just trying to make a buck.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Great people to deal with at ID. One of my ID725's was sticking open at shutdown so sent all 4 injectors to be cleaned/tested by ID. They said it was just a faulty njector and replaced it for free long after the warranty was expired.
