how much boost with t66
i am putting a t66 on a 93 fd, stock motor with 1600 injectors,fpr,skyline fmic,microtech,dp,mp,catback,and fuel pump.
i was told that i should put no more than 13 lbs of boost into it.with that boost i should pick up 340-360- rwhp.
i drive the car on weekends and i would like to keep it as dependable as possible.
a friend told me i can put 17lbs safely on the motor and have it as my weekend car.
basicly i want to know the max boost and rwhp figures i can run on my stock motor with the t66 with it being like i said as dependable as possible.
thanks,mike

Your loosing **** load of power becuase of you fmic. I know of a car with your similar setup(mild streetport) on it that made 400rwhp at 19 psi(not good for t-66), the reason was becuase of the skyline front mount(way too much pressure drop). the tuning was conservative though(meaning there was still little hp left )rotary performance did the tuning.

thanks for the info...what do you mean pressure drop,i'm new to the rx7 and some of the terms are confusing.
my fmic is 26in. wide 16in high and 3 in. thick. the person you're talking about was his fmic the same size?

I don't get the limit at 13psi, is that because of the stock ports?
A T66 STARTS to live at 20psi. Your intercooler is more than large enough. what size are the inlet/outlet?
you will need to address your ignition at higher boost levels.
Don't exceed 14-15psi on pump gas(some say as high as 17, don' do it).
93, why is 19psi not good for a T66?(do you know what you are talking about?)
The only thing between you and 450rwhp, is ignition, race gas, and tuning.
At a minimum, dyno the car with a wide band so you know where you are at. Repost, and we will talk some more.
Regards, Carl

im sorry, I was talking about 400rwhp is bad for 19 psi. Should have made that at 14-15 psi.

Where are you getting your car built? I have a microtec and am getting almost the same mods list, also with pwr rad, rebuilt motor and 4 850cc injectors. I was told it will be set up to run 13lbs on pump gas and 17lbs on race gas. This is what was recommended to me for reliability. Of course tuning and how you drive the car will be one of the biggest factors in determining your cars reliability.

you will need a big big turbo for that fmicgreddy 2 row will be the best. also I would just have the car tuned properly becuase 17 psi isnt even worth the cost of race gas.

I got 402 RWHP @ 16 psi
... w/ Turbonetics T66 P-trim as dyno'd at Rotary Performance. I gotta run 40% aviation low lead with that to keep the octane where it needs to be. I'm running great.
The 100 octane avgas translates to 110 motor octane and costs $2.28/gal. That's a shitload cheaper than C16 and I only need 8 gal. of it mixed with pump 93 Super. Plus, I can get it 24/7, pay at the pump, and the damned pump at the airport is less than 5 mi. from my house

just wondering
Do you just pull your cars up to the gas tanks and pump your car with aviation fuel? I wouldn't think you would but I think alot of stuff and just the thought of an rx7 filling up on aviation fuel and some airplans filling up. Would make for a great photo.

The T66 is a substantially better airpump; there's no reason to not see numbers above this.

if you guy would have paid attention to the post you would understand. I wasnt talking about a t-66 at 15 psi, I was talkting about a skyline fmic,t66 at 15 psi. The fmic is to large witch= pressure drop= loss of power. yes a t-66 is good for 400-435 at 15 psi depending on mods
