high idle...

high idle...

i have a 91 rx7...i just swap motors and put a tII in...i have taken all emissions and blocked off every thing...i havent had the car tuned yet but it idles at abt 2000 rpms....high...and if its cold the rpms will surge...it bounces from 1500 to 2000 rpms...any suggestion how to fix or does it just need tuned....

everything bocked off

Still have a BAC? Thats what controls idle. If it doesnt have that then you need to adjust your throttle plates.

Maybe a vacume leak....try useing a spray bottle to squirt water around the various block off plates, vacume hoses and gaskets between the manifold. when it stumbles you have found your leak.

ok..thanx...i did spray starter fliud around the block off plates...but not the exhaust manifold

what exactly did you modify on your throttlebody? If you removed the coolant hose, did you remove the thermowax/fast idle cam? If you don't, the idle will stick high.

no mang, just the intake manifold, and any block off plates/vacume hose that are left. also check the area around the intake manifold to keg gaskets, sometimes they leak there.

one thing i foregot to add...i put a jacobs fc1000 igintion on there to...im not for sure if its programmable...could that be the problem...
