GTX4294R Dyno Pulls

Spinning the tires even @ 14 psi..

http://www.youtube.com/user/1977rg#p/a/u/0/gvpPiCdJsBc

Survived several 35-37psi pulls( boost controller hooked up wrong )

Garrett's Billet stuff really does make a big difference on a rotary, even at sub 20 psi levels...

Lets say if u want to make 450 whp on a small streetport 13b brew engine around 16-20 psi, what type of billet trubo can u recommend?

Rather it looks like a clamp for the IC coupler let go from not being tight enough or too much boost............I didnt see the turbo suck anything in

This was on a Renesis? I was under the impression that they didn't take as kindly to big horsepower and boost? What kind of number is it putting down? Sorry if I missed it somewhere.

Why does it have to be billet? I'd say a regular off the shelf GT35R would fit the bill rather nicely.

yeah if it's Renesis have you run into any side seal/side seal spring issues? I was under the impression that they don't seem to like high EGT.

Heres the build thread, it's a renesis w/some port work and lots of other stuff.

http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=207929&page=16

Owner said the motor is hurt, possible side seals on front & rear rotors.

Our TDX61( Garrett GTX35r compressor mated to a P trim wheel). It should make those power levels probably around 16psi.

Standard GTX35R would work too. We got both turbos in stock.

It is a MSP Renesis Engine. I haven't seen any sideseal/spring issues what so ever. I even have a turbo Rx-8 here that has been running with a top mount for 3 years without loosing compression.

I can see it happening on a tracked greddy kit, something with stupid high exhaust backpressure. I have installed/worked on several street driven greddy cars without any engines issues though.

I do know of a 450rwhp Rx-8 that is road course raced without issue( although boost is lowered for track, 450 @ 17psi, tracked @ 12 )

The motor was hurt prior to the dyno runs, not sure exactly when & what happend yet. Might have been from either street tuning on pump gas( knock was high around 15psi initially) or could be porting etc. Will know soon, engine is coming out. Two sideseals are the suspects( 1 chamber down on each rotor 20 psi). Pretty amazing it didn't grenade on the dyno, in my experience a hurt seal only gets worse..

Patrick, I have never used the Batmo wheel personally, I have seen them on Supras here and heard they do well..

I haven't released the numbers yet, as the dyno wasn't recording and the owner doesn't want to hear all the naysayers BS. My math on fuel flow was within 20rwhp before I even heard the numbers, that in addition to wheel spin definitely indicates the car makes a lot of power. I can tell you this its more than 90% of Rx-7 owners, even on " low " boost...
