Fuel Lines stock/to SS
Hello gents/ladies I am getting ready to do my single turbo conversion and i have a question about hooking up my aftermarket SS lines. I have researched and found many threads regarding the aftermarket fuel systems but none really answered my question. What is the best/easiest way to hook up SS lines to the stock lines/hardlines... is there a simple safe way to do it? let me know how all you did it!

i am currently doing just this.
what i am doing is flaring my 5/16 stock lines to the 37* an flair and using tube nuts and sleeves in the -6 / 3/8s size. now i have cut a small piece of 3/8 tube and drilled it to slip over my stock hard line. so while the fitting mates with my 5/16 37* flair the 3/8 slipover tube acts to center the nut and sleeve.

I was thinking about 5/16" stock hard line -> 3/8" fuel hose -> 3/8" barb w/male -6 an to my SS... is this possible or am i crazy?? I would rather have it your way but i don't have the confidence or tools etc.

That's essentially what I am doing. I have an -6 lines running to the rising rpm oil block with barb fitting. From there, short 3/8" hose to the 5/16" hard line and fuel filter. I shouldn't have to worry about the engine lines leaking or dry rotting. I'll only have to look at those short hoses that are easy to get to and check. Easy enough.

Interesting to see these threads pop up...I've been researching this because I'll need to do the same and I'm planning on going with the tube nut/tube sleeve/-5 to -6 adapter... I just bought a 37* flaring kit to do this. I looked into the swagelok route and it seems like a good option but it doesn't come in AN male ends so you have to use NPT to AN adapter which means you need to use some sort of a thread sealant which I would rather not do.

And it's obvious both need adapters, the point I was trying to make is I personally would not go with Swagelok because of the NPT connection which requires thread sealant and instead I'd rather go with AN to AN self sealing method. If Swagelok had an AN version I'd probably go for it.

Curious to know why you think flaring the metric tube for AN is not the right way for you. Both ways seem fine as far as sealing goes. 8mm tube is only 0.002" bigger than 5/16" (-5AN)... Which should ensure a nice snug fit for the sleeve.

I didn't mind using some thread sealant at all. I don't plan on removing the lines anyway.
