Filter question
I got a t78, and the guy I bought the car from moved the radiator and intercooler back so that there is more room for the electronics in the front. This is fine except I have no room to put a normal intake filter. Picture of enginebay is included. I need to know where to find one of those slip on filters that fit over the intake compressor inlet that keeps major stuff out and will help block some dirt and sand incase it gets up there. Someone please let me know. Or if you have an idea on how to construct one that wont get sucked into the compressor let me know.

Yeah, this is the car before I de-rice-afied it. I repainted the yellow wheels gunmetal for time being, took off the rx7.com sticker, took off the veilside wing, took off the racing beat front lip *it was too low for me not to scrape it* The seats are coming out infavor for sparcos. If anyone wants any of the things that I removed pm me with a offer.

How much room have you got there? K&N makes a pretty stubby filter than Vosko put on his T78. Have a look on their website and see what you can find. K&N Filters

Maybe a remote mounted filter at the end of some wonderful Santoprene TPR hose from mcmaster.com? You should be able to fit the hose on there and then route it to a spot where you can fit a filter, maybe even somewhere that gets cooler air than right behind the radiator. I used the mcmaster hose to replace the stock rubber elbow on the primary turbo in the stock setup for several years with no problems, and I am using some now on my RX6 to relocate the filter. It comes in a bunch of standard and metric sizes. I'm using part # 53335K15 (90mm, black) but you can choose the right size for your turbo from the same group of hoses. It is cheap enough that you could buy some and try it out even if you aren't sure its what you want to do.
