Filter question

I see a bunch of people use like a wire mesh the covers it. Just get it on there really tight cause you don't want that to get sucked in.

How much room have you got there? K&N makes a pretty stubby filter than Vosko put on his T78. Have a look on their website and see what you can find. K&N Filters

Maybe a remote mounted filter at the end of some wonderful Santoprene TPR hose from mcmaster.com? You should be able to fit the hose on there and then route it to a spot where you can fit a filter, maybe even somewhere that gets cooler air than right behind the radiator. I used the mcmaster hose to replace the stock rubber elbow on the primary turbo in the stock setup for several years with no problems, and I am using some now on my RX6 to relocate the filter. It comes in a bunch of standard and metric sizes. I'm using part # 53335K15 (90mm, black) but you can choose the right size for your turbo from the same group of hoses. It is cheap enough that you could buy some and try it out even if you aren't sure its what you want to do.
