Downpipe question for single

Im doin single, and i need a custom downpipe made and also a v-clamp welded onto it. I was woderin, since the guy at the shop that will be doin the piping told me to get stainless and just get a buncha ubend and he can work with that.

well the ubends for stainless are 80 bucks a piece. and how much is a couple?! that could run me over 200 easily for just the piping. So i had another idea.

Would you guys say the 2 kinks in the downpipe going to the midpipe are around 45 Degree bends. cause if they are, its only 40 bucks for each piece. So if i can flip one upside down and weld it together to make the 2 kinks that would be a good saver. And also i could get a piece of straight for about 16 bucks. So in the end it could cost around 100 for piping. Here is a diagram i drew (with paint so dont make fun) of my idea. Let me know if you think it'll work or not, why or not.

If this works, im sure it will help many in the future

That should work, but really you should be able to get away with one 90* bend piece of tubing and one straight lengths. Think about it... whats 90 divided by 2? Should save you more

i like it loud =) for the wastegate.

im getting it from burnsstainless cause its the only local shop i can find that sells stainless.

I called bassani (1 mile from my house kinda cool) and all they have is mild steel. (i plan on using them for FMIC piping since i can get about 2 bends and 2 straights for about 50 bucks).

I just dont wanna use mildsteel for my dp.

Thats a pretty good drawing huh? woulndt you say haha.

One 90* mantrel bend tube will cost less then two 45*. If you tel whomever is building it to simply cut the 90* right at the apex of the bend, you'll end up with two 45* bends. Pretty darn simple, who is welding this, and if they can't comprehend the instructions I just gave.... can they weld stainless?????

Yeah, nice diagram/pic you have.... just make the bends radius-ed

excellent, now radius those bends in your picture so you don't confuse those guys and get back a DP that looks like a picture frame . Seriously.... make them radiused so you don't confuse those guys.

I finally figured out how to do that with the pics, so I have been doing it for everyone whether they like it or not...

by radiused he means... curve the ends of the pipe in the pics....

Some cheaper options than burns. I used two of those to build my 4 inch to dual 3 inch system.
