look a lil closer........ great job crispeed, hope to be @ this level very soon !!!(700rwhp)

Yeh that would be an amazing feat.
The Walbro feeds a surge tank and an Aeromotive 'Eliminator' takes over from there.

The whole purpose of a surge tank is to increase fuel pressure correct? Is also makes it easier to hookup an external pump if I am not mistaken.

surge tank is also to keep fuel from starving the pump due to long occurences of constant G forces in whichever direction (depending on drag or road racing) which may starve the pump from the fuel collecting all on one side of the tank.
its like a 1 gallon reserve for while you're cornering/accelerating like a beast. small pump fills up the tank, and then the bigass pump feeds the motor.
I'm sure theres more to it than that, but hopefully that will be some sort of explanation

thats some of what i understand though. i dont have one, and dont know anyone personally with one. Only in real life on some full on racecars.

Speed MAchine installs them quite often, and I know a few people using them.

Anthony,
Sven doesn't have springs for the 2mm yet that will last on the street.

Thanks, but my FB "only" puts out 492RWHP at 20 psi.
This FD is NOT MINE.

You need to ask Crispeed for the info on the Fuel system for this FD,
as he built the car.

Alright, I have a few things to say. Call it important, call it assinine. It'll be said regardless

1.Some where a corvette is missing it's *****. They are mounted under the hood of THAT car. I really don't want to know the formula. I just want to take a single ride. Just to say to everyone else around Orlando that's their car is slow(with the exception of a few)

2.At 685 Rear wheel horsepower, don't you think it's time to change it from v8 killa to v10 killah. I mean, don't get me wrong. There's some fast v8s out there, but how many of them really compare to a properly built RX such as this...beast.

3.Lastly, Florida is a wonderful place. Where else can a 600+ RX-7 be street legal and not worry about emissions?

Allow me to respond (the numbers don't correspond to yours):

1. I have all the respect in the world for this car.

2. A Corvette (or other V8-powered cars) with a similar amount of money invested can be just as fast, if not faster. Let's be careful not to worship this car as the "fastest FD ever" until it beats something faster than a S/C Harley Davidson truck It's not that I think it's not capable, but the ultimate test is how it performs on the street and the track.

3. A Viper (the only thing with a V10 you ever really see raced) is absolutely deadly when modded. The stock motor on the Viper is extremely strong and there are plenty of Vipers out there that make 800 rwhp on a stock bottom end, so I wouldn't get too cocky there either.

At the end of the day it is one of the fastest 13B-powered street cars anywhere, and thus, an awesome FD; however, if you compared it to the fastest Vipers, Corvettes, Cobras, F-Bodies, etc., it wouldn't really be all that impressive in the speed department.

are u serious? i dont know about in your town but in mine u dont see a 9 sec car on the road EVER!
that fd should run deep 9s if it was setup to put the power down for drag racing.

SHOULD run 9s is one thing. WILL run 9s is another. That car will prob trap high 140s. Don't get me wrong, that's fast, but to encourage him to be all cocky (V10 Killa) when there are PLENTY of Vipers and Corvettes that would leave him in the dust is not the attitude to take.

Oh, and it's not like Miami has a shortage of fast cars either...

Take a look at Doug Levin Motorsports: http://www.douglevinmotorsports.com/

I'll just inch back towards topic and repeat: kudo's to a builder, tuner, fabricator, sponsor and driver to pull all the rotary knowledge, parts, and pieces together into a qualty package. A mark of a professional.

You must live in Hollywood or something! Props if ya do, but there is at the most a handful of Supra's running 9's in street trim. Even less Vipers. Jason Heffner built some of the baddest Twin Turbo Vipers around, but there are only a few around. Vette's, yes, there are more vette's that are faster, but not in the 9sec. streetcar catagory. This RX7 "should" put V10 killa on his plate and if he doesn't, I WILL....

Ernie a lot has changed in the past year or so in the viper crowd. TT's are getting rather common and most are getting over 1kwhp. It's not hard with 8ltrs, the hardest part is the crank and block at that level. They are only safe for about doulbe stock output before you need to start looking at those parts.

That may make you look even more silly later this year

Oh and to Crispeed and the owner of this car....absolutely BADASS. That car is VERY clean and other than the C16 you would have zero idea it was a 685 hp car.
